Had my mobile direct debit come out today. (usually £90 per month including £45 for ex-partner)
Anyway they debited nearly £108. I logged into my mobile account to see that my ex has made a few long calls to a couple of 0845/0870 type numbers. Having googled these numbers I see that they relate to utility companies etc
I am guessing that the ex has a new flat away from the parents/ lovenest.Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage0 -

I am not sure. This is the first time the bill has been over the £45 contract cost. I might get a mutual friend to have a word. I do not want to get into an argument as we have a lot of mutual friends and have kept things pleasant so far.
I was told I could phone Orange and report the phone "lost" and the replacement SIM would be sent to me. He would keep the Iphone but would have to get a SIM from somewhere and I would simply pay off the remaining months of the contract. Think I might get the mutual friend to explain this possibility to him.Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage0 -

Well he has never been all that great with money. I bought it in my name as his finances were a little chaotic and I thought we were in love. It is pretty much my responsibility as it is in my name.
I have not really spoken to him about it since I found out he had found someone else and was leaving. We have simply exchanged pleasantries at social events. Lesson learned.Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage0 -
It's horrible isn't it, I have a c card with exs debt on it but he pays it thankfully
Why don't you phone the provider and ask them to drop it to the lowest tariff and put a block on it going over. By all means let him know that's your plan but it's not up for discussion unless he pays I'd say.0 -

I would tell him before I did anything as his mum is ill and I would hate to have it cut right off. I think I need to stop him running up a bill every month though both for financial and personal reasons. (it makes me MAD!!)Debt now £48,000 in the form of a mortgage0 -
There's nothing stopping him picking up a payg sim, there's lots of good deals out there with free calls/texts etc
Hope I'm not sounding too harsh, I know how hard it is to stop caring0
