You are right. It is impossible. No more realistic than trying to describe a rash to a nurse over the web ( as I have had happen to me a few times lol).
Lol, I get phone calls saying "listen to this mate...." and all you can hear is..... zzxashygcdqnquycgcwnbwyg!
It always makes me chuckle0 -

Just to update: took the car to Honda today and it seems there is as Ali-t says a known problem with the gear box bearings. They are looking to see if our car is covered, and if so, we will get the work done free of charge. If not, we are facing a bill of at least 800 pounds!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. (he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

Ouch, a couple of years ago the honda garage told me it would be around £1k to fix which seemed really dear (but I know nowt about cars).
The other unrelated problem I had with mine that was also fixed free outwith the warranty period was the door seals. I tended to find that the floor mats and the boot liner and spare wheel were often wet after it had been raining and another jazz owner told me the rubber seals were faulty in cars of that age. They were going to charge me for the diagnostics (around £150 IIRC) but I challenged it based on something I read on another forum (a honda one I think) and they did the work for free. If you are going to get a gearbox from them you could see about getting the seals done too if needed.
Fingers xed you don't need to pay anything. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
I had the chance to drive the car again very early this morning. I am wondering whether Mr Clutch has a vested interest in telling us we need a new clutch (or would that just be the cynic in me?).
The noise like a loose cable in the car seems to have no relation to the clutch pedal at all. It only happens at low speed when the accelerator is depressed, and immediately stops when the pedal is released. Doesn't seem to happen in reverse either for some reason, but maybe the speed has been so low in reverse. I don't know, but I have told my dh that he must take it for another opinion, before we take it to get a new clutch. We have had quotes for the new clutch between 315-585.
I don't think Mr clutch has a good reputation, here
Hopefully the Honda dealer will fix it free.0 -

...Or trying to explain to NHS Direct that your Bank Holiday toothache requires urgent attention. Has the pain stopped you from sleeping? Yes. Is it painful to eat? Yes. Is your face swollen? yes. Yes! YES! I'm sorry but the dentist can only deal with emergency cases.0 -
As I alerted you to in post #6!
Thank you. I appreciate that.Initially, my dh still thought it was the clutch at that stage. Because you had mentioned it as well as Ali-t, that was why I took it to them to check it out.
Still waiting to hear from them.
I will ask them about the seals too. We have found after rain, that there is a wet area above the passenger side sunvisor.
They fixed the driver's window switch and headlight switch for free too yesterday as there was a recall on both of these.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Remind me not to buy a Honda.. Quite a catalogue of design faults you were lumbered with there.0
