This is the odd thing about this forum. Instead of questions actually being answered, you get 10 replies picking at the utmost smallest of detail.
Well, you'd get better replies in a shorter time if you supplied the correct info at the start.
If you don't/didn't want to reveal you details then you could have written the plate as XX51XXX.
One other thing to add - if you look on your Reg Certificate and it has "reg mark not transferable" then you can't transfer the plate thats on the Volvo.0 -

Your question was answered in post #2. You cannot put a newer registration mark on an older car. Just because you own the car, it doesn't automatically mean you do own the registration mark; you have to buy it from DVLA.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
