Wrong, the Darwin Award is those that are so stupid that they cast doubt into Darwins Theory of Evolution.

At least that is how we hand out awards in he smoke, London.

For example the bloke that got his "little friend" stuck in a wide neck Lucozade Bottle, then didn't want to go to A/E for 6 hours by which point his "little friend" was completely black and it had to be removed. Is definately a candidate for the Darwin Award as far as I can see it.

Though happily he also qualifies under your rules, so it is all good.

I assume that by your comment the reasons for nomination may well differ slightly throughout the country.

But where I live and work, they are indeed considered as I have said, your area is obviously different.

As such, the OP is definately to be considered a candidate.

From the official Darwin Awards website

Honoring those who improve the species...by
    accidentally removing themselves from it!

Wow, great, but the Darwin Award has been around for longer than the Internet.

They were the subject of conversation back in the early '80s when I was at Uni.

Just because somebody puts up a webpage about something, doesn't mean that

    A: They thought of it.

    B: They are even correct.

It is a bit like the song in the charts by Wretch 32. A big hit, but I personally prefer the original Stone Roses version.

These days there is lots of copying of things that were around in the '80s, not just music.

Sometimes the lack of ability of the younger generations to realise that the world existed before 2000 surprises me.

Yeah, we all used to live in caves....................

I have been nominating people for Darwin Awards for over 25 years, it isn't a new thing.

Also 01 plates were never issued.

You are right about the typo.

    01 plate?! !!!!!!?!
'AD01AMS' can't exist - as previously said, '01' plates don't exist so why are we all wasting time pandering to AD01AMS ego?;)

I find a windup post works much better when the person starting the windup actually knows something about the subject.
    01 plate!

    Sometimes peoples stupidity surprises me.

And after a decade in the Ambulance service i have seen many candidates for a Darwin Award.

The OP is in the top ten.

Fools. The lot of you. You claim people can't spell yet you can't read yourselves. Suprise suprise. I said it was a typo. Move on already.

Right, so if it was a typo... What is the actual plate? Assuming it exists...

I think I agree with Adams

Would you put your real plate number up or change it slightly to illustrate the point?

It would be impossible to make the car look "younger" seen as the ceased production of this model in 1998 and bought in the newer S-Class for 1999. So would this rule still apply?

Regarding the other question. Can I pick and choose out of plates?

You are right about the [STRIKE]typo[/STRIKE] wind up.

    Is what he means.

This is the odd thing about this forum. Instead of questions actually being answered, you get 10 replies picking at the utmost smallest of detail.
