    Hi Hadley :)

I think generally dresses can be altered by a couple of sizes. You are right in that it will depend on the style of the dress, as some will lose the detail in alterations whereas others may be able to be altered further.
I suggest you try it on- this will give you the clearest indication. You don't want a last minute panic to find another dress if yours cannot be altered enough.

olokia - how exciting :j i agree you need just to eat whatever now and enjoy yourself. And please stay after the wedding

How fantastic Jo. a button countdown sounds a good way forward. i don't have shoes either... panic panic.

Does anyone know roughly how many sizes a dress can be taken in?? Know it will depend on the dress, but a rough guide would be useful. My dress is a size 14 (it fitted when i got it) and i have already lost just over 1.5 stone and am still losing. Wanted to lose about 3 - 3.5 stone in total, but am a now a little worried that might be too much. :)

    Hey Tiara,

    Good to hear from.

Now you would think trying it on would be a fairly simple - seeing as its hanging in my mum's spare room wardrobe. But my step dad doesn't know its there and my mum is saying that we shouldn't touch it until the fitting (last week of June). :(Stepdad will broadcast to everyone - what the dress looks like and how it was a bargain. just becasue his proud. Think my mum is paranoid that if we start touching it it will get ruined. But am behinning to worry now. :(

Is there a time you can try it on when your Step Dad will be out?
In your shoes I would explain your concerns to your Mum, and ask her to help you plan a time to try it on when your Step Dad won't be there. It is lovely he is so proud, but you don't want everyone hearing about it before hand!

Definitely a bonus that it's a corset back, that gives you a bit more flexibility, and the other advantage is that you are taking it in rather than out :)

Yay thanks for saying I can stay ladies :) Olokia totally enjoy your honeymoon, eat whatever you like and have a fab time. That's what I did and I don't regret it at all. 6 lb isn't too bad a gain when I consider what I ate. Back to healthy today though. Had porridge for breakfast and lunch is carrot, cucumber and pepper sticks with pitta and hummus with grapes and yogurt coated raspberries :) yummy. Hubbie is out this evening so dinner will be either soup or beans on toast.

Sounds like everyone is doing really well. Brilliant news about the trousers Jo!!

No- he has 6 month 'seats' in different departments, and one of those can be a secondment- either client (so being an in house lawyer for somewhere) or office. They have a secondment in Dubai which appears to be under subscribed. I said I would give up my job for Dubai or New York, but not in September! I was thinking more his 3rd seat, so March!

Hi all, congrats on the weight losses and the Size 10s and the news!

I am a big fat fatty and have just increased the dose of my medication which isn't going to help.

The sunshine spurred me on today though and I had fruit for breakfast and am about to have a smoothie for lunch, dinner will be a little bit of pasta with a roasted veg sauce, and lots of salad. No alcohol this week I think!
