Usually when I diet I lose 2 - 3 lbs a week quite easily for the first few weeks without much harship and then it slows to 1lb a week but this time I've had to work really hard just to lose 1lb a week. I'm guessing it's the medication I'm on that causes weight gain...but it's frustrating, I have lost 4lbs in just under a month and when I've lost weight in the past it would have been more like 10lbs in the first month :(

LisaJane, at least you had a good day before the MacDonalds, and you did netball so it's not all bad! Just draw a line under it and be good for the rest of the week and it probably won't make any difference :)

Just did a BMI calculator and my BMI is 32 :( Which I know is awful. But to get it into a healthy range I would need to weigh 8 stone (I'm short)...I don't think I've weighed 8 stone since I hit puberty, and I was a Size 8-10 through my teenage years so it's not exactly like I was overweight! Booo it seems so huge :(

Last Friday my BMI was (according to the wii) 22.29. That is within the healthy range (ideal is 22) but I still don't feel healthy! It can't really tell the difference between fat and muscle either, do I could drop a dress size and still have the same BMI theoretically. What I'm saying us don't put too much thought in to it!
When I was 16 I had a BMI of 18, which is apparently really underweight. However, I ate loads, did loads of accidental excercise, I just ha a high metabolism back then! N i never felt or looked ill. Agh those were the days....

Despite being short I'm naturally curvy (E cup even when I was a size 8) and quite wide...I think if I weighed 8 st I'd look ill. My sister is exactly the same height as me but a completely different frame (no boobs, narrow shoulders) and she currently looks skinny but healthy and weighs about 7 st. I think I'd like to see what I look like at 9st and try not to worry too much about BMI.

I don't think any kind of calculator for healthy weight, being it BMI or otherwise, are ideal as they don't take into consideration different body types.

Jo I don't know how you have soup so much, aren't you bored? Dinner is my favourite meal of the day, so many options and eating with OH :)

Breakfast was porridge, lunch is carrot, cucumber and pepper sticks, with a banana, fruit bar and some hoola hoops :)

Yeah, BMI is useful if actually calculated by a professional, because they take into account muscle etc. but other wise... Well I know in the grand scale of thing I am a healthy weight and technically healthy, dont need the BMI to tell me that! But it doesn't mean I feel healthy compared to how I used to feel! Just do it until you feel you are at your best. :)

OH said I was looking a lot skinnier last night- WITHOUT prompting!!! Wahoop! :j That's why I gave in and let us have pasta! :rotfl:

I do get a bit bored, BUT it means u don't have to cook, and it's quick and easy when I come back from the gym... And healthier than the chip shop at the end of the road! :rotfl:

We only have soup about 3-4 days out of the 7. So it's not too bad, and it does seem to work at dropping the pounds!

My OH is so sweet - he keeps telling me I look like I've lost weight - I know it's not true as 4 lbs wouldn't show and I can't see or feel any difference, but it's nice of him!
