My OH was a veggie, so his family always had HUGE meals cos there was no meat. I add meat! His metabolism is faster than mine tho anyway. But since I got him eating meat he has put on a little.... He he!
Now he can join me in loosin it!:T0 -
My OH was really skinny when we got together, and through his time at Uni (living on his own couldn't be bothered to make proper meals) but since we have lived together he has put on some weight simply through having 3 meals a day.
I really hope that when I have children I will be able to pass on a healthy attitude to food. No offence to my mum, she was brilliant, no she IS brilliant, but she has always been on diets and now I find I am the same. I think it runs in the family as my nan is always on a diet too, and my auntie and various cousins. I am hoping that by the time I have children I will have a good relationship with food that I can pass on to them. But it is a lot easier said than done.0 -
My Mum has always been on a diet and always been overweight too. I really hope this is not how my kids grow up.

My mum doesn't understand the word diet! She is a size 6-8, and her idea of healthy eating is (this happened last Wednesday) having only half a sandwich so she could have a slice of Homemade Caramel Slice AND a slice of homemade chocolate cream cake. AND she moaned at me for cutting the slices too small!:T0

Morning Ladies,
After weighing myself in Boots yesterday I have now decided it is time for me to kick start my weight loss and toning ready for my wedding.
I am not classified as “overweight” on the BMI index but am pretty close (24.1) and my body fat %age is appalling (37.8%, for my age average is 29.3% and good is 26%).
When I was younger the most I weighted was 8 stone and it wasn’t until I had my daughter that I had any problems with maintaining weight. I used to eat what I wanted, when I wanted (even a whole triple chocolate gateaux for tea). I currently weigh 10st 1lb and my weight usually see-saws between 9st 7 and 10st 5 depending on my frame of mind and eating habits.
My main foe is the fact that we usually have 1-2 take-aways a week and if I’m feeling low or stressed tend to eat rubbish (which is quite a lot recently), also OH has been doing a lot of the cooking so most meals have chips with them as he’s not a fan of cooking veg.
I did last year get down to 9.5 stone through healthy eating and exercising on the wii (I don’t have the time or the money for the gym) but once OH and I moved in together March last year it has been a slippery slope.
My goal is to get down to 9 stone (I think), I won’t be joining weight watchers or slimming world and am hoping to do it by smaller healthier meals, healthy snacks and home exercise (using new u, Zumba and just dance games for the wii).0 -
Hi Everyone,
been really busy over the last few days - so no time to log on. So many posts over the last few days.
Can I send hugs to Olokia and Em.
Dietwise the last few days have been a nightmare - had a party on Sat was good foodwise (SW curries etc) but then had lots of wineSunday we had the menu tasting for the wedding and I had to make sure I tasted everything - so yummy, but god knows how much I'll have pu on for that pleasure.
So ladies - please give me another kick to get me back on track.0 -
How did the party go Hadley? What was your food like? Have you chosen what you will be having? We have got our menu tasting in a week and a half. I'm very excited!
My lunch is yummyI love leftovers heehee

Party was great... food very yummy recommend SW beef curry. Made a massive pot and it was all polished off (a bit smug about that as all the other dishes made by others had some left). My cooking must be better than I thought :rotfl:
Menu tasting was fantastic - so yummy:) We haven't finalised all our choices yet - but are possibly looking at having a choice of beef or seabass as the main course for the wedding breakfast. Followed by mini apple crumbles & pear tart tatin (for our apples and pears theme) or chocolate cake (to keep OH happy - I hate chocolate cake). We have decided on our canapes and our drinks pacakage - bucks Fizz and rum punch for the welcome drinks (picks up on my mum's Mauritian heritage).
Enjoy your tasting... though be warned it certainly won't help the diet. :rotfl:0 -
I am also dreading the weigh in on fri morning.
I have been tryin to kid myself that it hasn't been that bad. But then I remember the alcohol.... I had to fight off OH's grandma to stop her forcing me to have a champagne breakfast! But I suppose I should give myself credit for actually succeeding!! :rotfl:

I have lost 5% of my original weight :j:j
My fingers are definitely thinner... Any more weight lost there would mean having to get my engagement ring and wedding ring made smaller so I am hoping that I lose elsewhere first
I'm loving the unexpected holiday I am on right now. I hated being at my old job and I am secretly glad I got made redundant right now. I hope it doesn't take long to find another job though as last time it took me 9 months but I have more experience now.0
