    Hi All,

Have joined after reading all your helpful posts! :0)
I have always been active since young, but then the weight crept up after me being diagnosed with meningitis. I have a very bad sweet tooth and wish I could banish that from my diet and eat healthily.

I have been on those weird diets before and had also been to slimming world, which helped a lot. I gave up as I was a student and could not pay to get weighed so the weight came back. I got a personal trainer when I started work and that helped a lot. I met my fiance when I had lost weight and was a lovely size 12! I still wear size 12 but I can feel my clothes getting tighter now!

the weight slowly crept up after the death of my sister, as i was confort-eating but i need to change that esp as I am about to get married in Oct! help! I am considering weight watchers so would need some advise please?

I have a friend who has tried so many diets but the weight comes back and frankly, I do not have the power to put my body through that!

I eat Ok but go to the gym about 3 times a week and do classes. my down fall is sweet stuff and also large portions, as when i feel hungry, i want to eat till i am full. I do not have time to prepare those high protein meals in the morning so have granola or cereal in the morning!

help please? My ideal weight would be to get to 10 stones as i am 5'4. I would like to lose weight before my first fitting in July!! :0)
    thanks

Rups, I totally sympathise. My downfall is snacky foods too - chocolate and crisps. Oooh, the crisps. Once I start with them I can't stop.

I'm doing the no s diet, which I think I've linked to before. It's not a faddy, no carbs thingy, or short term plan though, which is why I like it. Just 3 meals a day, whatever you'd normally eat as long as it fits on a single plate. You can't go back for seconds. You can't eat sweets and you can't snack between meals. You can break the diet on Saturdays and Sundays and special days (so you can have cake on your birthday, or easter eggs at Easter, or chocolate santas and Christmas dinner). Every day you mark your progress on a calendar, green for a day where you've followed the rules, red for days you've failed, and yellow for s-days. This allows you to spot patterns in your bad eating - e.g. I'm terrible in the days before my monthlies.

Oops, just seen you were after Weight watchers advice. Can't help with that I'm afraid - I can't stick to actual diets without wanting to eat everything in the kitchen. I'm such a glutton :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well, see my bright shiny halo. I've been good for 2 whole days - Monday being a public holiday was a special day. Yesterday I went to the gym and then a zumba class (thought I was going to die) and today I went to the gym too. Once I'm back into the habit I'm starting the 30 day shred again.

Ignoring the scales. They make me sad.

Arrgh. Of all the days to be in the office. Working late and normally there isn't anything yummy, but today there were cakes and yummy chocolate biscuits. I was manfully ignoring them and then the security guy came down with a plate of nommy looking cream cakes. I'm so so tempted.

    help!!!!

Hey codemonkey (feel kinda bad calling you that! :0) )

Hope you resisted the temptation. I tried so hard yesterday and ate well at work:

Granola with yoghurt and handful of blueberries/raspberries for brekkie,

a chicken/quinoa salad for lunch with a yoghurt drink..

Then I felt very hungry after that light lunch as i had been to the gym, so at 3 had one of those natural bars, which was nice.

Then I was good until I got home and had some dinner (spaghetti with mussels). Till I walked to the shops and got a kitkat and had that when I got home! I didnt even need it but just a habit as I like a bit of sweet everyday!! grrr. I am annoyed at myself but I have to try and change that.

The thing with me is if I had it in my head that I have to try avoid something, I think about it even more!I would love to try the no s diet but I worry that because I have to avoid sweets on those days, I will end up having them!!! :0( Not good.

I have to think of a way though but don't know where to start with that????? *help*

Also, a friend who has always been slim (since I have known her at work) swears by eating whatever you want, but in moderation. she also convinced me to buy the book by 'Paul Mckenna - I can make you thin', and I have just started reading it. Its amazing how the power of the mind can help you lose weight, and in that you CAN eat what you want. I have not read all of it but these words have stuck in my head:

'Eat only when you are hungry, and put down the fork/knife/spoom' after you have put some food in your mouth, and go back to having more once thats finished. It makes you fuller as you are waiting for the brain to send the signal that your tummy is full! I must recommend that and it comes with a cd too. My friend reads that and she listens to the cd and she is slim!!! hmmmmm

    Have a good day!

Bored at work as always. :0)

Hehe its ok to call me that. It's what I do for a living.

I was really good yesterday. Managed to resist all the tempting food and I think I deserve a medal. Although I did dream I was eating the massive Easter egg so might have to get h2b to hide that til the weekend.

I think this thing works for me because it has rules but the weekend is relaxed. I can make myself hold off if I know its only a few days til I can be bad. Plus, if I want crisps or something I can have them as long as its part of a meal. It's amazing how you think, nahhh when you know that's it til dinner. This is good because I'm not trying to lose much weight. I have managed to shift 3lbs this week though.

Gym again at lunchtime even though I'm aching from yesterday session. Hope h2b appreciates all this.

Meant to say I gave the Paul Mckenna cd a go a while ago and liked the principles but I kept fallring asleep.

And I don't think a kitkat per day will do much harm to you x

ahh i understand your gym pain. I was a bit ambitious and went for a LBT class on Tuesday and the lunges (i hate them) gave me such a sore bum! :0( Then I had to go for my body pump as I enjoy that (woo something I actually enjoy!) lol, and today I am in so much more pain! why oh why is it sooo painful?

Yes you are right. Hope the h2bs appreciate what we do! :0(

Funny you said that about the cd and falling asleep. I did too and weirdly woke up as he counted to 3! I said that to my friend and she said not worry as sub-consciously its in there somewhere! :0) There is hoping hey?

Had to get a coffee now as am struggling. No gym today as can not move but am going for shopping! :0) Oh the perks of being near Oxford Circus! NOT!

Enjoy your class! what you going to do? Ohh I think my gym will finally bring on Zumba so can not wait!!! :0)

I feel your pain. I did gym then zumba on Tuesday, then more gym yesterday and today I'm sore, but pushed through it and went again today. 30 minutes cardio, followed by strength then abs. Then I had to go Tesco for lunch. I was so hungry when I got back. A guy I worked with was on the treadmill next to me covered in sweat running 3x as fast as me. Felt like such a girl!

I will be less flabby in 4 months!

LOl yes those guys on the treadmill scare me. I am a terrible runner though. I had a program written for me at the gym and I was good for 2 weeks, where I followed it (once a week) and then I got bored, as I have an hour for lunch and I spent ages waiting around for machines, so I prefer classes. Think tomorrow I might try the step class. Hopefully I can move. So hard at work though, as like with your work place, we have a corner where people just bring 'naughty' food and I can see it from the corner of my eye. bah!

Youe determination is great though, Thanks for that. I normally let the pain in my body decide for me about going to the gym, but tomorrow, i will push myself! :0)
