Medical considerations also need taken into account. Because of my height, the calculators tell me I'm allowed more calories, but the doctors say otherwise because my body stores fat to feed a non-existent baby.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0

Definitely Code - and things like thyroid problems/polycystic ovaries etc will also impact.
If only it was as easy as us all eating 2000 calories to maintain and less to lose!
*edit* incase anyone is interested - when I'm trying to shed a few pounds I eat around 1400 calories a day. (But I'm not a calorie counter)0 -
thats true. i do not go with that BMI thing (even some GPs say its nonsense). there is so much out there. Its hard to know what to believe and what not to believe. non-existent baby code? your funny.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

To find out how many calories *you* need based on *your* age/height/weight/activity levels you can sign up for a 24hr free trial at http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk. There are other calorie calculators out there but most just calculate your BMR (how many calories your body needs to just survive - ie if you were bed bound) very few include your activity level.
*edit* registration is easy - you don't have to provide any bank details etc, infact you could make the whole lot up as you don't even need to click on a verification email to get access to your calorie needs.
Thanks so much Mrs Drink,
