sorry girls, been to two lovely meetings. bah
codemonkey dont feel down. your def not going to look hideous. I know what you mean though and started panicking myself, esp when i had my firs fitting. But when i tried the dress on, i just thought oh well if he didnt like me how i am (even though i have gained a bit of wegight), he would have left me, and you are right girls, OH love us for who we are. i think it us who put so much pressure on ourselves and compare ourselves to others. A classic example was when i was out with my bridemaids, we started talking about !!!!!!, and my friends asked if ihad watched some with OH. I said no because i feel uncomfortable and they were both shocked and asked, how could ifeel weird? I said because even if i see a love scene on tv, i look at OH watchig it and i keep thinking. OMG i dont look like, omg her belly is flat and mine isnt. My friends i was so stupid for thinking that because that is the last thing he would think of and compare me. she said they just need to look at it and thats it. i also read a little article when a girl asked the same thing and the answer was it is us who create that weirdness by putting too much on ourselves.
codem, when i tried my first basque and saw that my love handles were sticking out, i wanted to cry but then i thought, if i have to go a size bigger then i will.well i had to at bravisimo and i have just received it today on my desk!
we all have bits we hate. i hate my belly mostly and my thighs. bleaurgggh i think we just need to love ourselves more right?

I think we all do it - it's so easy for me to say all those things, but I don't necessarily follow my own advice. I've still got over a year before my wedding and I know that in the last few months I will need to make a conscious effort to not let the pressure of looking perfect get to me - it is self-imposed, in that we can choose to buy into it or not, but the images of female perfection are very hard to ignore.
As an aside, my H2B's self-confessed celebrity crushes happen to be Keira Knightley and Beyonce, so if he starts comparing me to them I really will be finished - I'd have no hope!!Marrying my lovely man on 1st September 2012

Yes Code, I panic on an almost weekly basis and we're not getting wed for 11 months....
But what's been said is true - he wants to marry you, not what you want him to marry. You'll look amazing, and you'll have a wonderful time but I know it's often harder to believe than the negative thoughts
If only we could believe what others told us, eh?!0 -
You girls are spot on. We're our own worst enemies sometimes. My OH has never complained about my wobbley bits (More cushion for the pushin', he says!). But he also encourages me to be healthier, eg exercising together, and has been super-supportive of my dieting efforts. The stressing all comes from me (which would be fine if stress made me want to run 10 laps, rather than eat my weight in profiteroles!)
My take on this recently has been to try and be kinder to myself: not so self-judging, and putting good food into my system. They'll both make me a happier, healthier person. And if the side effect is a slimmer me, then all the better!0 -
lol yeah i wish we all followed out advise. as soon as i see another woman whos slim and lovely, i start my comparisons lol how silly of me to even think of the women in !!!!!! that way? lol we are mad. :0)
yes putting kinder food into our system is the way forward. our body is a temple. :0) hmm i have to use that..
stuffing my face now with some quinoa/pasta/chicken salad and hoping it fills me up :0) i did circuits and i am shattered..Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Hmph, well I had planned to eat the other Tesco jacket potato for lunch (they come in packs of two), but my lovely workmate dangled the prospect of gossip over lunch, so we went out to our usual (pre-diet!) bar/restaurant. I had a fish finger sandwich, which came with a little bowl of chunky chips, so lots more cals than I'd bargained for! But it wasn't all bad: I didn't join her in a glass of wine and had a Diet Coke instead. And I'll have the jacket for dinner.0
