I was so hoping someone would say that, lol!! Not sure if it is though - we did more relaxing and less walking than I thought we would, and I pretty much ate everything in sight throughout.... :o

Hehe I am the right person to come to for delusions. Did you know broken biscuits have no calories because the calories escape through the broken bits. And chocolate is one of your 5 a day because its made from cocoa beans and beans are a vegetable. Plus its brown and so are potatoes.

Codemonkey, I feel your irritation. I have an otherwise lovely colleague near me who drives me crazy when she eats yoghurt. She spends more time carefully scraping every last morsel from the pot than she does actually eating it. Scraaape, scraaape, scraaaaape... Sets my teeth on edge!

Thanks Rups, it seems to be a successful strategy so far, but then I'm only a few weeks in!

And as for boobs and bellies - I have far too much of both, but I know from past experience that it's the boobs that take the hit first. Why can't it be the other way round??!

EDIT: It took me so long to write this, that the conversation has now moved on. This is in response to Codemonkey's post about chocolate counting as one of your five a day! x

Oh, I've got loads of those.

    *clears throat*

There are no calories in free samples, or in any food that you don't pay for, because the calories belong to whoever paid for the food.

If you don't know how many calories are in something, they don't register in your brain and therefore don't count.

Food eaten alone does not count, as if no-one else knows about the calories they are denied and therefore have no effect.

Food eaten with others does not count, provided that you do not eat more than they do, as your calories are cancelled out by theirs.

It takes up to eight bunches of grapes to make a bottle of wine, therefore one large glass of wine exceeds your five a day.

    Fruit-flavoured sweets totally count.

As does gin, which is made with plants.

    And vodka, made from potatoes.

    I could go on...

Like the bottle of wine one.

Are any of the ladies with weddings approaching really panicking? I keep thinking I'm going to look so hideous that h2b will take one look and sprint away. Its the one day of my life when I'm supposed to be beautiful and less than 2 months from it I'm fat, spotty and hideous.

Codemonkey, you are going to look gorgeous. All that shovelglove and zumba is working its magic, slowly but surely. Anyway, he loved you before all that, and he will love you afterwards. And, on the day, he will be dazzled, I just know it. xx

You're supposed to look like YOU. Did your H2B propose by saying "Will you marry me? But only if you magically morph into Keira Knightley/Beyonce/Elle McPherson/Angelina Jolie between now and the wedding day"? No? Then give yourself a break. You will look beautiful because you are happy, and he will think you are the most beautiful woman ever because you are his bride. None of us look like the people in the bridal magazines, and our men quite frankly wouldn't want us to.

    xx

I know, I know. Before all this I was actually comfortable with my body (i mean obviously I'd love to look like Salma Hayek but thats not going to happen, not least because salma is not dark blonde with blue skin).

But ever since I got my dress and saw photos of me at another wedding where I looked like an elephant and had ham joints instead of arms, I've been freaking out. Hours of trying on underwear yesterday with shop lighting did not help.

I could of course stick to the diet..
