I think it has too, and they don't have many good offers on at the moment either.

I do my shopping online, and try to keep it around £40 a week (well £50 really I usually have £10 off £50 vouchers, although they aren't issuing any of those at the moment either :( ) I've found it very very had to do that over the last few weeks, I've not been able to get the kids any treats to speak of, just the basics.

Asda never publicise their policy that's the opposite to Rollback - I call it
    RAMPUP
According to a recent press article Tesco's have recently jacked up a lot of their prices in preperation for the Christmas feeding frenzy no doubt all other rip off britain supermarkets will follow suit

  • Asda/WalMart's investment in grocery price cuts in the past five years, followed by Tesco's determination to match, followed by Sainsburys throwing the towel in and cutting prices by 5% in the past two years, has been the biggest contributor to this country's low inflation levels, cancelling out above inflation increases in utilities and council tax over the same period.

Don't be so cynical everybody - they may raise and lower prices in the short term, but long term on many items they're lower than you'd have paid five years ago (how much was a digital receiver two years ago ?)

Go buy some Christmas beer for example - average cost of a 24pk slab of beer eight years ago £14-15

I appreciate the lower prices on the whole...........I don't appreciate an obvious Christmas hike!

Perhaps they shouldn't have sold them at £19.97 in the 1st place. (1 week ago) and what are they rolling back? I shall investigate this week!

Yes well these are the loss leader deals that they ram down your throats try buying that same slab of beer when it isn't Christmas or World Cup the article I was reading quoted Tesco upping the price of (amongst loads of things) a loaf from 50p to 58p and a bag of frozen parsnips from £1 to £1.80

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    Though it is minor

Value peaches have gone up 5p this week.

If they are doing that on basics, what are they doing on premium products

Methinks they are cashing in on Christmas:(

why pay asda prices when you can get a whole lot more for a whole lot less!
  • All the "buy for a £" or 2 for... seem to have disappeared now that it is december....
