OOh just looked at the Quince Tree, it's a beautiful site.
Had my first visit to the Chinese supermarket on my way back from the Burrell. I'll not want for a noodle for a good few months!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
OOOOHHH just checked topcashback and there was £3.82 sat there waiting for me
that has now been requested, another small amount into my boiler pot
I won't update my sig though until I actually get it into my account, bit unhappy I forgot to use it to pay for the knitting machine
. Need to remember to use it from now on, any spare penny generated is a step closer to my boiler lol.
Just been next door to see if the children had aprons I could use as a pattern, nope, but came away with a half roll of wallpaper instead, so I can make a pattern upBoiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Thanks for the links Northern Lass, I am enjoying reading through the quince tree at the moment, not sure if it is the "baker/cook" in me or just pure nosiness!
MG I think your blog would be wonderful, you have so many interesting stories, and I forone love to hear of your every day adventures - give it a try!0 -
I think a blog is an excellent idea. I think Pippi said she used hers to make her keep writing on a regular basis.
I do like the idea of a general one, telling your story day to day and with some humour. You can use it to practice different 'voices' till you find your own unique one and later you can use it to publicise anything you offer, like training, ebooks etc.
It's quite fun and you could set up a free one to practice on and see how you get on. Don't spend lots of money on hosting and don't get anything complicated which will daunt you - otherwise you just won't do it! With blogger, you can start with one of their standard templates and virtually click and go.
I also like (catching up from previous pages) the idea of trying to find as many income streams as possible and working from there. It's certainly less daunting and I expect anything which will provide the big money will take time to build up.
Go girl:j:j:jBut how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Claire - Regarding the cash for clothes. You should check with the company, but the one I used recently took all clothes(rags and all), shoes, bags and belts. The only thing they would not take was duvets/pillows. The one I used paid 40p per kilo, and 10p a kilo to Radio Lollipop, which is a charity radio station for Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow. I got about 18 quid for 4 or 5 bags of stuff, which I could not be bothered E baying (too much washing/ironing etc!). I was really pleased to get a little bit of cash for things that could have ended up in landfill, so do not bin any of the clothes you think are too far gone, bag it up, and make another few pounds for your boiler fund.Sealed pot Challenge 2011 member No 1241 - Final total £154.21

Hey Bitsy - just trying to think back to when ds was a wee one and we didin't even know that he was ASD.
Nights have always been a tough time - ds didn't sleep through the night until he was 5+, so I can well relate to the night-time musical bed routine. Ds always had a low-level night-light and our bathroom light was always left on, it stays on even now. We used to leave a radio on low at night to provide voice background cover. I'm trying to remember the name of the medication we tried - remembered Phenergan - it's a sedating antihistamine (we had varied results).
Between 6 and 10 he was a lot better but once he started secondary school it went downhill again. Even now he will often switch night and day, I'll see his light on in his room at 3 or 4am or hear him pacing around the house - the good news is that at 19 he is finally beginning not to stress at not being able to sleep at night and just gets on with it :T.
