    Morning all.. hi Bitsy, I absolutely think that they can - those are big years in growing up and learning about yourself and certain things can definitely stick with you (one of the reasons that school bullying is so destructive).

    Thankfully nothing as awful as that happened to me, I had a pretty good childhood. I think mine is bourne (born?) out of just being painfully shy when I was a child and then how to deal (or not deal) with social situations when I was younger......wouldn't believe it was the same person when you see how gobby I can be (without alcohol I must add ;)) Do you know the more I look at myself when I was younger it's like a big sign pointing me to the autistic traits that DS has. Not suggesting I am undiagnosed Aspie or something BUT I can see so much where genetics comes into it....but that's a discussion for another day.

    Gemmzie - Hmmm how much effort will studying require? Is it a case of sitting back and reading books/notes or involve sitting at a desk working? If it's the latter then I suggest you rest. If you can rest properly and still study then do that because daytime TV is just awful!

    I've just been blog hopping and was directed to this blog by another.

    I really LOVE the idea of a Thimble List. Hmmm what shall mine be for today??

    Enjoy the pleasure of after school in just the company of my own children (don't be me wrong I love my mindees but it will be so nice to have a break from the norm :))

    Savour every mouthful of my HM cajun chicken. It's one of my favourite meals :)

    A session of yoga at home this evening.

    A cup of Galaxy Hot chocolate :D

    And preferably a FULL nights sleep - take heed children and cat :rotfl:

    what would you put on your Thimble List???

    What a lovely idea Bitsy! So... my thimble list...

    1. A Cat purring when sitting on you or near you
    2. Hug from my hubby
    3. sunshine on your back
    4. Getting back into bed when you are tired from a days exertions!
    5. Clean sheets, clean nightwear, and cos you've had a bath/shower and a general pamper and preen, a clean you!
    6. Time in the steam room after swimming!

    That will do for now... got lots of things to be getting on with at work...! Bah to work. Still, under 2 hours to go!

    what would you put on your Thimble List???

    Another bowl of what I just had for lunch - spaghetti with nuked cherry tomatoes, garlic, parsley and artichoke hearts. Squeeze of lemon to serve.

    It called something unspeakably romantic in Italian - but it was, there's only one word for it "LUSH!!!!"

    Got an appointment tomorrow to see the Head of a Primary school in one of nearest villages. DS1 would be in a year of 4 boys and 5 girls - but, as this is the clincher, P5 - P7 are all taught together in one class. I think that might just be a better fit for him than our other optin.

    The other option is very local school (walking distance) but DS1 would be in a class of 34 - and there are three classes that size. So a school of a different scale.

    Little school I popped in at lunchtime and was greeted by a "Boy and Girl Ambassador" who introduced themselves with smiles and took me straight in to meet the School Secretary / Teaching Assistant.

    Big school I ran the guantlet of 11 - 12 year old boys asking me to "get my **** out" and would I give them a "****-job?"

    ............... I don't think the decision will be a close run thing:rotfl::rotfl:

    I presume the only choice is whether it's that little school or home ed?
    It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

    You think???:rotfl::rotfl:

    Yeah - had a bit of the "over my dead body" feeling at the bigger school. My boy is nice, kind, gentle, empathetic, curious, questionning and considerate - but if he came out with that sort of language he would also be "in Officer Training School in Botswana"

    So plan will need to be to keep the car on the road as I will need it to drop DS1 off three miles away and get back to put DS2 into playgroup by 9am.

    Unfortunately the wee school it out in the next village along a very busy road so I don't think DS1 can be expected to "get on his bike" for this occasion"

    Don't think I wasn't tempted - bear in mind I used to run squads of Roadies so if I had started on on them their bits might never drop and they might be terrified of women for life :rotfl:

    So much for thinking that would only happen in 'inner city' schools and small towns are still OK:eek:
    You cannot drop DS1 into an environment like that.

    I would love to have seen their faces if you had responded
    Oh and , Bitsy, would you like to come and clean my monitor screen:p

    Oh well back to frog eating
