    Evening all

MG - how lovely that DS1 had a fab time at the NASA event! :T What a wonderful memory for him! :T :T

(((((Crickett)))))))))) glad you found someone at work to share things with xx

Willow92 - don't think anyone said well done for finishing college! :T So well done! :T :T :T How fabulous to not have that hanging over your head. What's next? :)

Bleurgh to all of you not feeling happy about your body :( I read somewhere once that people have a better body image when the focus on what their body can DO, rather than what it looks like. 'I am strong and can walk for a whole hour', 'I can lift two children at once' 'I can carry three tubs of paint up a ladder' etc :D I find I feel MUCH better about the way I look when I'm a bit more active - and it's not only because my body shape changes. Good luck x

Well, I have had a cheerful day (although exhausting!). Took the day off work to go to Newcastle to a workshop about stuff related to my PhD - which I'm now JUST ABOUT ready to start thinking about again :D Part of my 18 month plan working towards patchwork life - current contract only lasts another 18 months and I want to be prepared to go back to phd related subjects if I want to - which involves keeping my hand in.

Had a chat with a few people there - including a bloke who it turns out works in the same place as me - and is coordinating people to make wildlife friendly flower beds around the campus :D So guess what I'll be doing when I get back :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Been plotting and scheming and mind mapping on the train too :T :T

All fired up for more activity (once I've had a rest, that is!) :rotfl:

I mean to say Cheri hope all goes well with the exchanging contracts and enjoy your trip :D

Northern Las - If I were closer I'd be coming along like a shot :)

Cheery - Will try your suggestion of focusing on what my body can do. Hmmm the plotting and scheming sound exciting :D

And Willow quite right of Cheery to congratulate you on finishing college and very neglectful of me not to do so too :o

Does being able to carry a tub of icecream from the fridge to the sofa count as a good thing?

Thanks Bitsy, I am keeping all fingers crossed, especially as to this point there have been lots of hiccups (hence me keeping quiet)

Willow, sorry I missed that you finished college - have been skimming posts to try to keep up. Must do better.

MG - I love that your son enjoyed the talk. I went to watch a shuttle take off once. I sat on Coco Beach in Florida, the ground shook and I watched the shuttle for an hour as it became a "star" in the distance. It was amazing. Funniest thing happened too. Talked to a lady from New York conversation went like this
Her "where are you from - I love the UK"
    Me " near to Liverpool"
Her - is that anywhere near Norwich
Me - A few hundred miles away
Her - Oh well you will probably know my best friend she lives in Norwich...............

I kid you not and she was really serious.

Bitsy - I'm coming south at the end of July - should you be interested just let me know (mates rates apply)

Cheri - I think carrying tubs of icecream count as a workout :)

Popping out of lurkdom to say :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:!

My son and his girlfriend were on holiday in the States - he with a Yorkshire accent, she from Aberdeen. They had a conversation with someone in a shop who asked whether they were English.
DS: I'm English, my girlfriend is Scottish.
American woman: Oh, aren't they the same thing?

And by the way... DID you know her friend from Norwich? :D

    Good morning Matrix-ers :D

Some beautiful sunshine here today, sure does make you glad to be alive :D

I joined a self esteem forum in order to start working on that area of my life. There was a self esteem test and I didn't score too badly really, my issues really are about my body shape and how I look. that sounds terrible doesn't it :o it seems well....a bit shallow :o:o However I want to be able to go shopping and not come home feeling worse than when I started so its time to make some changes.

Heading off to a friends this morning to give her a baking lesson. I promised her one when her kitchen was finished so am going to show her how to make Twinks and a basic Victoria sponge.

A rare day off for me so this afternoon DD and will be catching up on the housework I didn't manage to do yesterday due to blinding headache. I must re-pot my mint too.......it's so leggy it's untrue!

Veggie patch is coming on lovely although I had to give my courgettes a hand with pollination ;) Funny in April there were loads of bees etc but this month I've hardly seen any.

Have a great, productive, frog chomping day everyone :)

Morning ladies - I went of to be with a migraine yesterday - and somehow neglected to get up again properly - oops.

Before I forget - congrats Willow on finishing college. Huge milestone and well done. Its Graduation week up here so the traffic warden is making a mint ticketing the expensive cars from doting parents too mean to feed the Pay-and-display. You'd think on this particular day they would just pay.

The sun is out and the boys are stirring - so breakfast time soon, but here's an observation I've made aith people over the years.

When you start working on ONE part of your life - the other stuff starts to ge better too. So at the moment I focus on creating a healthier repertiore of food for my family. I'm losing weight and gaining energy, that energy has spilled into a cleaner home, more writing, creative ideas, better dressing, more pride in my apearance, plans for work, goals for the future.

So focus on just one thing - the thing giving you the bigest "ribbbittttt!!!!" The rest will follow in its own perfect time.

Good Morning Matrix. I am just waiting for my new found buddy to come into work and then I can start the day properly!

Had a good time last night; we went to the ordination of an acquaintance of ours. He is now a Deacon - it was a night full of pomp and ceremony... but it was nice to have been invited and to be involved in it. I got a little anxious by the end of the night though... there were LOTS of people and they all seemed to have no idea of the concept of personal space. It freaked me out a little bit, so I got in the car and fled. Hubby was in his own car anyway and made his way home separately! Still, it's all good.

Tonight is a leaving do for one of my fave professors. I am looking forward to the night out, but not the saying goodbye. I am useless at goodbyes, and tend to blub horribly! :( Hubby drove me in to work and then I need to make my own way home tonight. It won't be a problem because I won't be drinking too much and I won't be staying too long either.

Tomorrow we are going to the theatre with our goddaughter and my best friend. We are seeing... wait for it... the theatrical experience that is... "The Rotten Romans" by the Horrible Histories crew of people! LOL! I am really looking forward to it actually!! :D

So, last night I also went to the homeopath. She decided that I definitely have depression and actually said "Please go to your GP as soon as possible." She said getting some anti-depressants is probably a good thing to help me over this phase and it won't interfere with the homeopathy. :D This is excellent news!! :D

Okay... so time to attack the to do list. It's not a big list today... but there are some things on it that I really want to get sorted out. I am determined to get them done. Please kick me in the bahookie if you see me on here too often!! :D

All falling into place there crickett hon.

I alway feel better for starting the day with some quiet "reflection" time, makes a huge difference to my equilibrium during the day.

How wonderful to watch the ceremony - especially when you personally know the peep involved, but Ordination!! thats like "Graduation cubed" - never mind the Dean awarding you your degree, the Big Man is there instead.

DS1 is off to theatre tonight too- taking his Granny to see a Beatles Tribute band - LOL. I'm referring to it on his homeschooling log as "musical history":rotfl:

Off to have a quck cuppa, feed the WM and get the boys into the car.
