LOL Training the Dragon is a frog for me and has grown to the size of a cane toad! I tried the voice recognition software years ago and it was really not up to the job at that stage but so many people are using it now, I suppose it must be worth it!
TMIF : Sorry that work and personal life are bugging you. Can't give advice on either really except to say that you should consider dealing first with whichever is giving you the most grief? Also relieved to hear that there were no murders. I'll put the cake with the hacksaw in it back in the tin for later. :rotfl:
Positive vibes to all and sundry. :T:j:T:jBut how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Good morning
Woke up with a headache and a terrible stiff neck this morning, so drunk loads of water, took painkillers and went back to bed once ds2 went off to school, feeling much better now.
Was raining this morning, but seems to have dried up now. going to check emails then get dressed and crack on with more crafting, got farmers market Sat so want to have a variety of bits to sell along side the jewellery.
Cheri you will do great today, positive vibes winging their way to you.
Thank you all for the lovely comments on my bags, I'm enjoying making them.Boiler pot £30.92/£10000 -
Delurking to send positive "you can do it" vibes to Cheri and hugs to TMIF.
Can I ask please, why is Dragon worth spending money on? I know what it does, but why do you think it is worth the cost?Memory_Girl wrote: »Train my Dragon - I've got some voice recognition software that I need to get back in practice using now that there is more memory on my computer. This is the worlds most frustrating job - but so worth it when it is done.

Crafty,
Dragon Naturally Speaking is very useful because of the following:
1) Saves your wrists if there is loads to write
2) Most of us speak faster than we type - I know I do. So Dragon gives speed - needs to be checked for acuracy though.
3) It is very good for 'messy' writing - this is the first hurdle over which most people never get. Getting it done not getting it right. There is a psychological effect that makes it easier when talking to your computer rather than sitting, facing the empty screen and your brain going in a spasm.
4) I do find it useful for 'proper' writing as well - but this one needs practice and editing.
I think that getting Dragon - and training it - is one of the smartest moves I made last year. Well, a minor smart move but still....

Crafty : I'd just add to FWs reasons that I have osteoarthritis which is affecting my finger joints now and I'm trying to future-proof my use of the computer.
Also, I've got a voice recorder which enables me to dictate my 'brain dump' when I'm starting an article wherever I am and download it later. Saves lugging a laptop around. But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Morning all - I'm going well so far today - I have a list and I'm not afraid to use it! Frogs on it would be walking into town later with a cheque and what turns out to be a smaller amount of cash than I was hoping as two of my Avon customers are now mucking me about - one of them through no fault of her own but I can't pay the invoice until I have her money, and from being reasonably safe for spends this months I've gone to squeaky-tight!
Hopefully another will be in later on though, and I have one more who I KNOW isn't about until the weekend so hopefully should get hers sorted then OK.....Also starting to write some blurb for my website - that's not even made it to the list but I have to get started. I have three bits to write I think - maybe do them one at a time?
TMIF hugs to you - I think it comes down to the life-balance at the end - which is the great problem - having him around, but annoying you, or not having him around at all? If the annoyance is greater than the fear of taking "that decision" then you know where you need to go. It sounds clinical but perhaps a pro's and con's list in the first instance? It will remind you of the things you love about him as well as the things you find irritating.
I have a feeling that as Parsnip has gone quiet suddenly we must indeed have a seedling!
Dying to hear from Cheri & Souk with the outcome of their days.....positive vibes still flowing for both of you!
I have had my porridge for breakfast, with a handful of dried mixed fruit. Lunch will be....something salady I think - just not certain what yet! Possible as simple as a bowl of salad with a toasted pitta bread. My meal plan tells me that we have salad tonight as well - but a somewhat posher one with a piece of the flaky smoked salmon we brought back from holibobs......mmmm! That walk into town later on will count as today's exercise too!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I my case - the Dragon increases my accuracy .................... but I need to qualify that by saying I am dyslexic and suffer from "fat fingers typing" .................... and by saying that I have a particularily clear speaking voice.
I used to use it all the time and go out of practice because my computer wasn't up to the job ........... but there is nothing for it now but to knuckle down and get into practice with it again.
I also Mind Map my articles and find that when I am up and pacing around "speaking" into the computer it seems to go much quicker and easier for me............... and it looks like I will haev lots of writing on the horizon.
