MG : We have a similar menu!

    Ours is
    Sun roast
    Mon Risotto
Tues Slow cooked something - often bean based (and may have been shown some meat :rotfl:)
    Wed Pasta something
Thurs surprise me night (often leftovers turned into something else or could be egg and chips
    Fri Fish
    Sat HM takeaway

I juggle it to fit in with going out etc.

I've been doing this for 3 years and DH had not noticed the pattern!

Your separate store cupboard is a great idea. Despite having a huge built in cupboard - I love my Victorian cottage - I have to get up a stepladder to access top shelves, BUT I've cleared a cupboard in my study with my decluttering so could use that. Great idea.

Claire : So glad the antibiotics are working.

Must run - F1 Qualifying at 1.00 pm!;)
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

Well downstairs is clean and tidy, with mostly DH and DS2 cleaning, still hurts to bend.

    Kitchen and bathroom scrubbed too.

I have put the sewing machine away today as DH said he will mend the knitting machine now I have the part, so this weekend my craft will be knitting.

I'm having a lazy day and am still in my pj's.

Crickett. I agree with the not weighing yourself. You have said yourself that you want to be healthy so instead of concentrating on the weight side of things concentrate on how you are feeling. You will know that you are losing weight by how your clothes start to look and feel. A far better indication because then you will start listening to your body rather than relying on scales. I have no idea what I weigh now as i dont have scales. I can tell you that for a big part of my life I was classed as underweight. I started to go to the gym and do lots of exercise and I did actually put on weight as I build muscle etc but I never went up a dress size! It was all relative. Dont allow yourself to be disheartened you are doing brilliantly so far.

MG - thanks for that and for (erm sorry just forgot who) for the approved food link. I have had a looksee. Question though, beans with date of May - how long will they last. I see they have haricot beans at 39p and as Mr C loves baked beanse and I have a homemade recipe for them I am thinking they would be a good basic to have in.

    Hello peeps

Busy busy day here chez MG.

Chiropractor brought in huge rugby playing reinforcements and relocated my SI joint and one tweaked disc. Back to see her Tuesday to check all is well................. so pretty sore right now TBH.

Mum has cleaned floors within an inch of their lives - and I have stood in the kitchen most of the day matching videos and DVD's with their inners (neither of my kids seem capable of putting the one they have finished with back in its case). I will have one last search tomorrow for any strays and those that don't marry up will be filed in the bin.:D

So both kids roms have had a spring clean too.

Curtain rails are up - and Curtains are laundered and will be ready to iron in the morning.

Poor Clootie turned up and got co-opted into a Charity Shop run with the baby buggy - sorry hon, but thank you :D

So dinner is on its way for Dr Who and then we all sit down where we can becasue the sofa got a washing too :rotfl:

Was thiking about keeping times for dried pulses and stuff from AF - you do know that they have managed to germinate beans that they found in the pyramids??? I'm guessing buying short-dated dried pulses is a pretty safe bet :D

Off to get my dose of the DR

PS Anyone got a video of "Working Girl" that they no longer need? Making a care package and its a favourite film

Missed loads, had a busy day, including a coffee and a natter with the lovely Marru. Daisy cat is home :j she can most definately "see" more than light and dark shades, is staggaring about the house like a very drunk thing but most importantly she seems to be happy to be home :D

Nowt else to say really, my mum wants me to make her a bag like mine which I shall start next week (or tomorrow depending on kids and H ;)).

Crickett - Well done on finishing your portfolio :j I confess I still don't know what one is but it's clearly been a big job and you're a star for getting it finished ;)

Well done everyone on their frog-eating today, sadly I've been mostly eating almond chocolate :o:o

To qualify as a "proper" (official) accountant, you need to pass a zillion exams, and complete a career entry profile type thing.

Some of the institutions are harder than others - CIPFA - who is the one Crickett belongs to is the hardest - without doubt. I did CIMA, mine was about 60 pages - basically a REALLY detailed CV, a chart of skills which they want you to have undertaken, and a whole load of "give examples when you...." questions. Marru is doing ACCA, and I don't know what she will have to do.

I am going to sack my shrink - Bitsy is much better :)

ACCA is easy peasy comparing to the Crickett's one. We have 13 objectives and each objective has 3 challenge questions that need to be answered and signed off by our workplace mentor. On top of that there is the ethics module we need to submit, don't know what that is like yet.

Now I know it is no where near as prestigious but I did an NVQ in Personnel Management and an NVQ for assessing Admin to Level 3 and they were similar to the portfolios that you describe. Have to write up loads of assessments and provide written evidence of how you have done the work and also provide witness statements to back the evidence up, then answer questions to an assessor. I used to put it off all the time but like Crickett once I decided to put my mind to it I flew through the portfolio.

Bitsy I think that there will be an NVQ (if they still exist but in Scotland they are SNVQ) for care and/or childminding if you felt the need to join in :)
