Extreme couponing - is it possible?

It's my understanding that all newsagents hate newspaper coupons. Yes they get the money, but they face the manual exercise of sorting, counting, and bundling them up, and then waiting for the money to come in. It's a major pain in the posterior as far as they're concerned.
We had our own newsagents until recently, and we always took coupons! Yes they were a pain to count up and sort out, but we did it once a month and then had a nice low bill from menzies once a month! We certainly wouldn't turn customers away providing their voucher was in date etc etc.:starmod: May all your wishes come true! :starmod:0 -
Sometimes at Sainsburys, the coupons from the Catalina printer often give vouchers out for money off things that are already half price or on special offer. For example, 75p off Sure roll-on when it was 80p, £2 off Ariel stain remover stuff when its £3.
My mum always gets a mov for Fairy dishwasher tablets when they are on offer.
Sorry what is this exactly? Never seen anything like this in our Sainsburys!0 -
Just seen a TV advert, new series starting soon on Discovery Real Time!!0

They honestly don't seem to mind taking ANY combination of coupons in the US. All the papers are FULL of coupons and all the stores also have booklets of coupons. You could often find enough different coupons on one product to make item free - they like different ones.
Places like Officemax astounded me as there were SO many different offers that you could also send your proof of purchase or bar code off the box away for that you could get printers, cameras, stationary etc. for free once you received your refund cheque.
I haven't seen the program but know from living there for a while that it's pretty easy to do & the sales assistants are MORE than helpful, rather than looking down at you & putting numerous obstacles in your way as they are here.
I do it whenever we go over, it sure makes a change from the sullen faces we get here using coupons. Although we've no longer got a US cheque account to take advantage of send off offers I still do them using my stepdaughters addresses - can't help it & I'm sure they don't mind receiving cheques to bank.
My favourite now is scouring racks of offers for casino promotions - so we can have a day at the casino with our free stake and also often eat there for 1/2 price or less - Stake & Steak bargain!0 -

Trust me there is more madness to come from this series. I have seen the full season (thanks to an American friend) it gets to the stage were people are walking out off supermarkets with trolleys full off stuff and gift cards with money on, its crazy just crazy. I really don’t think it would be possible at all in the UK, the other day I was getting some really bad looks from a “supervisor” in ASDA because I had about £7 worth off 10% vouchers to use. I could not even imagine the reaction if you were to hand over bundles off coupons. In fact I think there is a good chance you would get asked to leave the shop.0

oooooh i loved the series:j
but have to admit i wish i could do it, even just once:o
but i would be in bits as it went through the checkout:D
i looked on a couple of their supermarket websites (just like ours) and THEY have MOC on the front pages to print off, so they actively encourage it, unlike our lottery of "will they/wont they" accept them0 -
I totally heart Extreme Couponing. It's really re-inspired me to get on it again so it prompted me to join MSE after I downloaded and watched all the episodes0

I saw a couple of them in about April and was completely mesmerized by the whole thing. I'd love to see more of the series. Can you tell me where I can download the shows?
