    I think easyjet's policy is families with children 4 years old and younger can board after the speedy boarders. As far as i know children 5 years old and over dont get any priority when boarding?

    This is why i have always used speedy boarding for my children who are aged 6 and 12

    I absolutely adored listening to the parents trying to argue that their 11 year old was a 'child' and they should therefore be allowed to board in the group of families with children...and huffing off in a strop when they were told no.
    Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    Did you get to sit together on the flight? How much did you pay for the speedy boarding?

    One point to consider for future trips - your daughter will look to you for reassurance. There was no need for her to even realise that there was a problem, or that you may not be able to sit together (as even without speedy boarding, a child will not be left to sit on their own). Perhaps you need to look at how you handled the situation? I would rather have a calm child than argue over any amount of money.

    We got to sit close to each other but not next to each other. I have no idea how much extra was charged for speedy boarding as you can not get an itemised breakdown from the easyjet web site, and they want to charge me a £10 admin fee to issue a receipt. I was definately charged a fee though.

    There is a seperate queue to check in for speedy boarding which we waited in. My daughter knew something was wrong when we were told to go to a different queue as the confirmed paperwork easyjet had issued me with was wrong.

    They later said a glitch in there computer system caused me to be issued with speedy boarding

    Easy Jet seem to have devised a cut off at age 14 years:

    "Children under 14 years of age cannot travel unless accompanied by a person aged 16 years or older who will take responsibility for the minor."

    I think therefore that you could expect Easyjet to make efforts to let you sit next to your 13-year old, but not your 14-year old. Seems reasonable to me.

    Are you saying that each child did not have one of their parents next to them?

    I was the only parent travelling. I sat next to my 6 year old, my 12 year old sat in the opposite seats.

    My query is more about being charged for a service that was not received. At the time of booking i paid for speedy boarding with dedicated check-in and had this confirmed.

    Its only afterwards that easyjet said the fee i paid only covered the return journey. Even though it clearly states both ways on all the paperwork.

    We use speedy boarding regularly and up until now it has worked fine for us.

    It should be very easy to check if you were charged for speedy boarding one way is £10 per person both ways would be £19 per person. Your boarding card identifies if you have speedy boarding. Your online booking and your e mail invoice itemises the charge as speedy boarding. See here http://www.easyjet.com/en/book/speedy_boarding.html

    If as you say the paperwork shows you paid for it, then you are certainly entitled to a refund. You could write and complain, but I doubt you will get compensation.

    When I book my parent flights, it's £11 per person, per flight, in their case that would be £44. I agree, if its on the paperwork as booked, I'd say you paid for it...it's up to them to prove you didn't...if you're getting no joy with easyjet, then i'd recommend talking to your card provider.

    The price varies according to route. However the OP can check what it would be on their route by doing a dummy booking for flights in the next week. Might be enough to recall if it was the amount paid?

    Out of interest, if you book a two leg flight, is it even possible to book SB for one leg only?
