EasyJet Speedy Boarding Problem

I booked flights through EasyJet for 1 adult and 2 young children from Stansted airport for a few days away in the Easter school holidays.
I have confirmed from the EasyJet web site and also by email that my purchase for £580 included 3 return flights, Speedy Boarding at both airports and travel insurance. And I believe this formed the contract between EasyJet and myself which was paid in full.
Speedy Boarding is the main reason we use EasyJet as this offers peace of mind for the children knowing we can sit together.
When we arrived to check-in at Stansted we were told that my booking information was wrong, the Speedy Boarding was fully booked and we were refused this service. My daughter who is very nervous about flying had to be removed from the check-in area due to panic and was in tears. This also caused distress during our holiday in case the same thing was to happen on the return journey.
I have complained to EasyJet about this but have been told it was a computer glitch that allowed me to book speedy boarding and they say I have not been charged for this?
I was not issued with an itemised receipt. I requested all the flights and services required at the time of booking and paid an inclusive price for this. Had speedy boarding not been offered at the time of booking we would have used an alternative and cheaper airline.
I am very upset over the way I have been treated by EasyJet, the embarassment at the airport check in and the distress to my children.
This was all paid for via a credit card.
Is there any way I can claim back money for the contract entered into by EasyJet and mysely that they refused to honour?

I book with easyjet regularly for my parents and always use speedy boarding (my mum is a bit frail). As far as I am aware, it is an added extra and if it was on your confirmation, you have paid for it.
Have you tried logging back in and seeing if you can see the booking itemised?
speedy boarding isn't cheap, i'd be complaining too, hope you get the money back.

I can log back in and it still shows a confirmed speedy boarding booking for both airports. I can not see an itemised breakdown anywhere just the total amount paid0 -
speedy boarding is great but remember that some airports its only on to the bus and then the bus opens the doors and the people last get on the plane first0

hiya,
is the amount taken off your card the same as the amount confirmed on your booking (which shows the speedy boarding as confirmed)?
if it is, then i'd argue the point with them as it would appear you were charged for it.

Yes the amount taken from my card is the same as the amount on the confirmed booking
Easyjet say the amount of the booking does not include the additional premium for speedy boarding on the outward journey although this is impossible to verify without a detailed breakdown0 -
Speedy boarding relies on British paranoia.
The whole business of..will i get a good seat,will i be sat next to my friends/relatives, will the plane leave without me,will i get on it first.
Who on earth would use an outfit like Easyjet for family holidays when you have all that argy bargy about unallocated seats?
Actually it could be beneficial.
Dont book speedy boarding.
Let the guy is set 45A at the back look after your child whilst you reminisce about being single and dating sat up front again.
See how easyjet and their passengers like that..!

Sorry to hear about your experiences with Easyjet. Personally I would not bother with the speedy boarding larky even when travelling with small children. It does not guarantee that you will get on the plane first even if you leave the gate first.
Things I have seen.
The second shuttle bus getting to the plane before the first shuttle bus that carried the "speedy boarders"
The speedy boarders inching up the front steps behind an disabled person using a walking frame. Meanwhile others were galloping up the back steps.
If you would like some peace of mind in future then you could print out and carry the Health and Safety advice from the CAA:

"Additionally, children and infants should be seated where they can be adequately supervised by an accompanying adult in the event of turbulence or a decompression in the cabin."
You could not demand to be seated together as a single family group (if there were two adults), but the airline should make every effort to ensure that a young child sits next to an adult they are travelling with.

We encountered this exact thing, l just stood there in amazement at these adults pushing and running from the bus to the plane steps, and this included a couple of 'frail' people who made a point of having to have a seat at the front of queue at the departure gate0 -
You don't need to book speedy boarding if you have children do you. We went Easy Jet last September with my sons and their babies and were boarded after the speedy boarders but before the A and B groups so it was no problem being seated together.0
