Talk Talk leaving/retention deal?

Hello,
I'm looking into changing my grandparents broadband/phone provider in an attempt to save them some money. They have been with talk/talk for 3 years and are paying ~£26/pcm.
They are on TalkTalk LLU and having looked here: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_mapping it looks like they can't do any kind of LLU-LLU switch so if they were to switch they'd have to go back to BT for a 12 month contract and choose an new ISP, is this correct? They are in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight and from a look at the other providers it seem as if when you factor in their costs and the BT line rental it's not going to save any money.
I'm aware of the poor customer service but they've never had any problems with talktalk and I'm reluctant to advise them to switch just for the sake of it.
Would it be worth them calling up TT and seeing if they'll do a retention deal (making sure they don't sign up to any kind of fixed term contract)? Has any one had any success with this?
Any help/advice would be very much appreciated.:)

Personally I'd be reluctant to rock the boat... talktalk are not better or worse than other ISPs but even if they TELL you that they are not signing them up for another 12 or 18 months I really wouldn't believe them
As for other ISPs... I don't know if they cover there but Kingston/eclipse is down that end of the world and might offer a better price...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
TT is the only LLU supplier on the Bembridge exchange, discounting Orange. They can get the Essentials tariff for only £19.59pm. Anytime calls will push that up to £27.59. You don't say what phone tariff they are currently on.
There is zero chance that they will do you a retention deal without a new 12m contract-otherwise there would be no retention! No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Maybe too late for the OP here, but perhaps useful for others and couldn't find a more recent related thread:
I phoned talktalk intending to leave (have been with them for 2.5 years or more). My current package, no longer under contract, is TT unlimited - £28.50 a month, of which £14 is line rental and I think £14.50 for unlimited BB and eve/weekend calls.
After some probing questions from the CSR on who I was thinking of joining/what they were offering etc, and me saying I could (genuinely) get £100 cashback for moving to, for example, plusnet (£50 plusnet cheque caskback + £50 topcashback at the time) plus a cheaper deal than my existing Talk Talk providings, I was referred to a supervisor who offered me half-price providings for a year (same as existing package), and TT would pay my line rental for this period. It would be just a 12-month contract and after that would revert to the existing prices/rolling monthly terms.
Yes that's right, I had to confirm it myself - £7.25 a month for unlimited broadband, eve/weekend calls and line rental, for a whole year. That's a saving of £255 or 75%!
So... definitely worth calling up their retentions dept!0
