My plan for the day is to get some housework done this morning with DH doing all the big stuff then later on planning the rest of xmas. The plan is to go and buy as much as I can from Tesco so I have more for the MFI fund, for when we order the kitchen as soon as the next lot of clubcard vouchers are released, should have £1000 in deals by then
Hi joannasmum
I think MFI are pulling out of the deals after April 07 or around then sometime.Make sure you get your kitchen sorted before then. Well done on saving that many vouchers.

Afternoon All - Hoep we are weel
Welcome to the newbie's and hope your'e feeling better those who aren't well
Gosh no IM A CELEB to watch tonight - what am I gonna do! Just be patient and wait for the "coming out party" on sunday.
Well - tried going to Ikea last night, got just before the motorway and the car suddenley lost power, so we had to pull over in a lay by. Smoke was coming from from the engine. OH lifted the bonnet, to try and cool it down. It was "SMOKEY" to say the least. Anyway, in the end had to get the car towed back home. (£40 up the swanny!)
This morning, I made into town, finally to pay the rent. And the usual monthly bills. Had a look in "woolies", OH was getting frustrated with people pushing past him, and banging boxes into him. In the end we had blazing row, and I stormed off. Stomped my way back to the car, and came home. Anyway, we've not spoken since and that was 12.30. Im enjoying the peace but not the atmosphere,
Mechanic was comin at 1pm to look at OH car. Dont know what was said or whats wrong with it!
Anyway, best be off and sort dinner out.
Take care everyone, and have a lovely evening.

Crikey, you've all had such busy days, I've done nowt!
DW repairman came out this morning & condemned it, he would need to take it into the workshop & investigate, which could cost around £200. I can get a brand new one for not much more than that. Not happy about having to cough up for a new one this month, but that's life. It will have to come out of the holiday fund. It's coming Wednesday, so paper plates til thenAt least I used Quidco & will get a tenner or so back.
OH has gone to work as a favour for a friend, so I'm left in peace to enjoy whatever I like on the TV. Think I'll get on & wrap some prezzies.0 -
Evening all
:j :j :j :j :j
Santa been early and I got my slow cooker, so excited:j . Could have done without waiting in Argos for a naffing hour but hey ho, I have it!!!!!! Now I have to go through the recipes and decide what to make first
Had the corned been stew thing I made yesterday, it tasted even nicer todayno idea why, with fresh bakes rolls, scrummy!
Made popcorn this afternoon and sat watching a film with the boys, which was lovely. I did end up with an oopsy with the popcorn, it started coming out of the lid as made too much and my son thought that was hilarious, we were chasing popcorn all over :rotfl: much more fun than buying a bag ready made :rotfl:
Once the boys are asleep I am resorting the cupboard as I also got a new dinner set, I was managing with one plate and the rest were plastic after many disasters, convenience food didn't take up using plates much, so now I am cooking fresh all the time I thought right best get soem plates :rotfl: going to try the children with them too  at least they were cheap so if they break I won't cry.
Housework wise haven't got much done, just about to do my flylady list. One day I might be more organised...........

lil_me - it really inspires me and makes me happy that you're really getting into this - with the slow cooker and cooking fresh meals etc! Good on you! Stew always taste nicer the next day - its to do with the flavours developing and mixing together
Here I am in my lovely candlelit flat, burning apple and cinnamon incense to make it smell like Christmas and I have to say its absolutely delightful! It'll be even better when we get the tree and decs up next week :j Wish I could take a pic to show you all, but the load of washing in the living room somewhat detracts from it :rotfl:
Had a MAJOR disaster yesterday - my Kenwood Chef caught fire. Fortunately, OH managed to turn it off and get it out on the balcony before flames appeared, but there was quite a lot of smoke coming out of it! So, I've just rang my Mum and very meekly admitted I broke it (she gave it to me when we moved out), and she reminded me that its 35 years old and has most definantly paid its dues. Plus, it can probably be fixed. I really hope it can, because I use it a lot - the alternative is getting a a new one for christmas. Chef vs New Bed hmmm
Sorry I haven't replied to anyone - have been readind this thread sporadially throughout the day and I can't remember anything.
Hope you all had a good day! OH got called out to work tonight, so am home alone. Think I'll settle down with James MartinWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -

Sold a book on Amazon - only listed some yesterday so am pleased about that!:j
Must go in a minute and empty the TD, got a busy weekend workwise, 11 hours tomorrow and 10 hours on Monday:eek:
have a great weekend folks and take care xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Too into it according to my DP, he thinks I am crazy being so excited about a slow cooker, but he got kiss and hug for it so shut him up. He also loved the stew I made, not one complaint (unlike him) The making popcorn all inspired by here aswell, changed loads at home, all for the better. Me and little one doing more baking tomorrow as the flapjack and the brownies nearly all gone.
DP says he's building the tables and putting Christmas decorations up tomorrow night, which I am suprised about as he's not usually the festive type, he even dragged me out to buy a new tree (had the one we had a few years, bought in second hand shop and lots of bits missing now) so I am sorting the sitting room out after I've done the cupboard. Must be the fact finances aren't so tight this year that's taking the pressure off aswell as him changing jobs.
I'm sat here doing my flylady challenge lists for the next few days, meal plans for this week and shopping list (then will tick off what I already have when I check through cupboards etc) how sad am I haha!!One day I might be more organised...........
