To be honest I read the description after. So I didn't know until we were all done and dusted, the car was for my mrs and so she was the one doing the checking and looking at what she wanted. I just paid and that was that lol.

So, when it the test drive was done, what was said when she noticed it had only manual mirrors?
Now I contacted a Kia dealer and they said it would be very hard to do this and they would not be prepared to try!. They wouldn't even give me a price :-(

So I sent them a letter, being car dealers gave them a really high price and asked for 1500 compo. Now I guess they may offer 200.00 lol.

    Thanks for your help guys.

Now you've just insulted them, they will you see as nothing more than a chancer, so be prepared for a battle. You should have been more realistic.

  • All I wanted really was some of my money back, because it is incorrect. It's not really bothering me either way.

    Thanks for the advice.

    Many Thanks

I think you're totally taking the proverbial P ... I'm not a fan of AC's, but then again, I'm not a fan of "how much can I screw out of them" either.
  • But why not get what you can? Thats my plan!:-)

I had a similar problem with Arnold Clark, I test drove a car and paid deposit and went to collect the following week, only for them to give me the keys to a lower model. I noticed straight away and complained. I knew they never had a leg to stand on and it was clear they were trying to give me a cheaper car but wanted me to pay for the higher model. The salesman admitted that I ordered the SXI 1.4 with AC and not the 1.2 without. I told him that I would cancel the agreement as I was mis-sold a car and I didn't care if I lost my deposit.

He offered me the car at the correct price with 2 years free insurance a full tank of petrol, foot rugs, roady safety stuff and the boot shelf they removed when they thought I wasn't looking. And I also told them to remove there yellow stickers with there name on it. Why should I advertise there product for free when there name is on the plates already. Albeit I drove away a happy bunny, thank god I had my wits about me and read posts on here before purchasing my car.
It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun

I hear a lot of horror stories about Arnold, but that's probably one of the worst. Didn't stop me buying a brand new car from them but I'll probably never be back with it for servicing/repairs :rotfl:

I have had a couple of personal contract hire cars from them and have found them brilliant to get on with, but thats because it's not the staff in the dealership you arrange it with, I once went to look at the new qashqui when it came out and I was six months from the end of the pch, the salesman said no problem he'd be able to get it settled and get me the new qashqai, when he didn't phone me the next day as planned I went in and asked what was going in, which was when he told me about the penalties for getting out of the pch, I told him I knew the penalties were there and the whole point was that he was getting that settled, needless to say the sales people will promise the earth and give you nothing.

OP: As for getting what you can I think you'll get nothing especially from AC and at best it would be the difference of the cost of a car with electric windows and one without, although you could complain to the Advertising Standards Authority for mis leading adverts.
Thanks to all the competition posters.

Because you have submitted an unrealistic claim for compensation, which will go in the bin. You have made a rod for your own back and will probably be ignored.

I still don't understand why this issue wasn't raised when the car was test driven.
