Just got sky+hd box this afternoon. I have noticed my current Thomson sky+ box does not seem to have dish input 1 and dish input 2. Here is pic of the rear of my box for an idea what I meant. If I understand it correctly I can connect to dish input 1. Am I right. Could not do the link through flicker hence the pic. Thanks

its only the hd box and sky + box that have 2 dish inputs i think, its for the record purpose0

oh also the inputs are screw connectors from dish into box, you have used normal areial connectors.0

Will that make any difference, I did not do the sky+ box set up, the sky engineer did it for me on his last visit? I guess I will have a go tomorrow after I have watched all my recordings programme and gave sky a ring for help. Thanks0

ThanksTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Your picture is showing the RF (terrestrial aerial)inputs to your box, NOT, the dish inputs. Do you use a magic eye to a second TV?
If you did not have recording facilities on your existing box, you will need a quad LNB with twin feeds to your Sky+ HD box. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
After careful investigation, my sky+ box does have the dish input 1 & 2, they are properly connected but buried among other cables, therefore it should not be a problem installing the sky+hd box. I had a good look this morning. I got so confused with all the cables as I have a link that if sky is on downstairs, I can watch it upstairs, the same with the video. Thank for all your help.0

I installed my own Sky+hd box, so any problems come back.
Just follow the step by step guide in the Sky booklet. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
