imdoingitforme, has anyone ever suggested it's about time you realised that you're 46, and instead of worrying about being good looking and passing for 38 you should be concentrating on doing whatever pleases you most - life really is too short to worry about looks or what other people think of your age , and it's definitely too short to waste on losers like your ex and your ex friend.

Reading between the lines you're feeling very hurt by all this - sit down and ask yourself why? If you've known him for 14 years why weren't you already married, or at least settled down with a couple of kids - the answer is probably because he wasn't right for you and you knew it.

Why not take up a new hobby to get out and meet some new friends - a book club, yoga class, or something that doesn't tend to have men at it - that way you can take a break from men for a bit and settle back into being yourself.

I know I only met my "one" when I was truly happy by myself, when I was content to be in my own company and so on....

Karma will sort out the ex, don't fret!!

how do I say this? hun, its NOT about what you look like we have been posting on! you poured out your heart and your hurt. thats what we are concerned about. you seem to think this has a correlation to how you look? not to us - we cannot see you! I find it a bit sad that you seem to think you need to go improve how you look. I think you come across as a really nice person, and its NOT looks that keep people in a relationship - its personality. you have that - so why the emphasis on your looks?
