An easy way to find out whether its a legit site is by making sure the Domain is HTTPS when logging into online banking.
While not having https indicates an insecure, so very probably not legit site; having https merely indicates that the site is using a secure protocol, it does not show that the site is genuine. A scammer will have no difficulty setting their site to use https but they will have more difficulty getting the certificate (click on the locked padlock in the status line) to look genuine.

    Right then!

Spoken to NatWest online fraud team this morning, I had to ring them because the didn't ring me back! Typical really, the chap in branch who helped yesterday was promised that they would ring me by the end of business yesterday and of course that didn't happen.
Anyway, after a long hold on the phone it turns out that the account that my money was paid in to was an old account and my money has bounced back in to the NatWest suspense account! What a relief!!!!! :D
Now the only thing left to do is for my branch of NatWest to return the money to my account. This, of course, can only be done by the branch in question and not by the fraud team so, as ever, it is left to me to contact the branch! Which I can guaranty they will not know what to do and will require my presence at the branch so that they can then phone the online fraud team for guidance.

I'll be happy when I can see the money in my account and then I will be changing banks!!

Goodbye NatWest!! You showed your true colours when I had a problem and as a loyal customer of over 10 years I didn't expect that. Why should I have to do all the chasing, calling different teams, and what is it with being told different conflicting information - you need to get a new account, you don't need to get a new account? Come on which is it!?
First Direct here I come!! :)
