Hi:hello:
I've got half a tin of pineapple left and thought i might mix it in a sponge cake mix to use it up. Would this work? Or would it make the cake too heavy?

if you grease the cake tin and then lay the pineapple in the bottom of the tin and pour the sponge mix over the top you will have pineapple upside down pudding. Just cook like a normal sponge and when you turn it out the pineapple will be on top.0

I know that you can make a sponge cake with pinapple underneath it... sort of like an apple pie.. but not too sure about mixing it in!0

Made exactly that at the weekend using the microwave sponge recipe on here. I laid the pineapple in my bowl, poured a smidge of golden syrup on then the mix, nuked and enjoyed.
(note due to the syrup it took a little longer to cook then usual - but was delish)Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000 -
Hi:wave:
Thanks to all who helped. Due to me running late I made a microwave sponge with pineapple in the end. I didn't use syrup because i'm afraid i didn't read that until it was already in the microwave, but nevertheless we had it with custard and it was yummy. Real comfort food but cheap and quick.:j :j
Normally I stick a baked sponge in when i've got the oven on and they are always a lot heavier (but nice anyway) but they take a lot longer to cook. I'll have to try it that way too.
Thanks again
