Doubt it, 9 year old tech, even modern car satnav is no much for a £150 TomTom Live (internet traffic + connectivity), I hate to think what an old car satnav with no touchscreen is like.0 -
There really is only one reason cars don't sell and that is because they are overpriced. We get threads like this in here quite frequently and the advice is always the same.
Many will try to argue that their pride and joy is special but in reality it is just another lump of metal.
Drop the price and get rid or make the decision that at that sort of price you are better running it until it dies.
Both my cars are Cat D write offs that I had repaired, both will be hammered down in price because of their status if I ever tried to sell them. So to get maximum value I need to keep them till they drop.0 -

with all due respect you don't have a clue what you are talking about. You haven't used one so can't comment. doesn't need touchscreen. all controlled from the steering wheel or remote. it's never failed me and I've used it loads.
will a Tom Tom sink into the dash when not in use? 9 year old tech does. no need for wires. no need to store in glovebox. no need for cradles or suction cups to the glass. its horses for courses. just because it's older doesn't make it crap.0 -

I've got built-in satnav on my car now, it's a much more up-to-date system than yours but it's still not a patch on a TomTom.0 -
Stick it on Piston heads mate, as well as the volvo forums.
It is overpriced, but you should get some interest there.0 -
try selling here www.volvoforums.org.uk
These big gas guzzling volvos (I have one) appeal to caravan owners, great for towing. Joe bloggs won't be interested due to fuel. If I was in the market for such a lump, and I'm not, I'd be interested at £1500 with 12 months mot and a few months tax left.
A years tax and insurance, a full tank and a set of tyres and that would cost another £1500. Great way to get rid of cash if you hate the stuff.0 -
the satnav will be naff,
Actually, the Volvo Nav is really good! I love the way it sits inside the top of the dash. The early ones had the TV built in too. I also love the phone system in the dash too. You could even get them with a mic and speaker built into the drivers head rest.
Going back to an earlier post about travelling upto 30 miles - if I wanted low miles and Nav on an S60 I'd be more than happy to go 100 or more miles if it was the right car.
As for the 2.4T over the 2.0T I'd see that as a bonus. I personally wouldnt be too fussed about the 2.4T as the 180bhp 2.0 is jolly nice to drive.0 -
That's the kit I have harveybobbles.....communications pack. Even has a handset in the arm rest for "private" calls.
You're right about the sat nav too...has the TV. Aston Martin used the same Volvo RTI sat nav system if I'm not mistaken.
Thanks Empty Pockets....added it to pistonheads.0 -
when i was looking around for a volvo s40 s60 etc the prices for 2001 2002 years seamed to fluctuate with what it had, an SE spec with 56K FVSH was priced with a trader for £2665.0
