Just looking thru Dragon2000 at what prices I've sold them for and 2 years ago I sold a black 02 plate D5 SE done 98k for 3995!0

I see where you are coming from but mine still has less mileage than those and is higher specced by a long chalk. It's also a 2.4T......can't post links to it yet.0

The 2.4T isnt worth anything over a 2.0T to be honest.
And, even though your mileage is very nice, most peopl who know what day it is will know that Volvo's will easily hit 200,000 miles and then start looking at newer cars with higher miles.
This new shape one for example...

I see where you are coming from...the last one is the closest to mine but mine's got less mileage and much higher specced. Plenty of 2.0T around, was when I was buying....always much cheaper.
Can't post links yet due to by post count.....appreciate your input though.0 -
It's like satellite delay....sorry0

With yours being nice mileage and got the Nav etc, if you price it right you will find a buyer for it.
And I hear what you say about there not being any the same within 40 miles of you, but if someonbe wanted a specfic one with low miles and Nav then they would travel how ever far it meant to find the right car.
Autotrader is your best bet, when it works lol.0 -
I looked around for ages about 2 years ago to get a decent specced/good condition round where I live....was prepared to travel upto 30 miles and there was nothing about that was any good. I looked at loads and mainly ex police cars or company cars with high mileage.
As for D5's that was top of my list and they were well out of my price range even back then....now they are even more sought after.
Got offered £2.8k by Merc main dealer few weeks ago against and £8k A200 CDI....in the time I had to think about it they sold the car in question without telling me! Which was nice. Should have snapped their hand off by the sound of it.
Been offered £2.5k by 3 local dealers in PX cars ranging from £8-£9k......obviously am looking for the best deal for myself. Sold my V5 golf prior to this car for £4k when i was told it was worth £2k.0 -

Thanks, it's good to get a second opinion.0 -

Having done my research on autotrader and using a few websites, I believe my car is reasonably priced (dropped it by £500 in last fortnight). Nothing in similar spec, condition or under priced in 50 mile radius of Stockport where I live.
It's a 52 plate with just 67k on the clock, in great condition, fully serviced and has a really high spec (Sat nav, phone, parking sensors, etc). It's up for £3.5k and is advertised on gumtree, preloved, vistastreet, pistonheads and has been on the autotrader.
Apart from a few px requests there's hardly been any interest. Dealers are not interested in the vehicle stating the petrol prices but although it's a big car it's pretty economical for it's size.
Anyway I digress, the question is, have you any ideas of how I can improve my chances if a sale? Am I missing any of the sites other than ebay? Is ebay any good for selling cars in your opinion?
I just sold a 53 S80 SE 2.5T with 71k, fully serviced, about £500 of damage (rear bumper) for £1700 in under a week. I could have got £2000 had I not wanted to get rid of it in a hurry, no more though
Clearly your car is much too expensive, the satnav will be naff, and despite what you say it's not economical at all - like your S60 my S80 was quoted at 30mpg, and in practice it returned 25mpg, which means lots of trips to the pump. Add onto that £260/year VED and the fact that your car is now nearly 9 years old, it's an unpopular model, a previous generation car,, and big Volvo saloons lack prestige (SUVs and estates have some image, the S60 none). If it were diesel it would make a good taxi, that's still probably your best bet.
There is only one problem with it - the price.0 -

I easily do well over 30 mpg each day to work...had it in the 40s recently back over from Sheffield. Sat Nav is great? Never had a problem with it....re the s60, that's your opinion. I should have stated in my first post when I said the dealers were not interested in it, I meant for the price I was looking for. The prices I have been offered are genuine in terms of px.
I'll give it a bit more time and then drop it if it doesn't sell....0
