Phone him back and say "I am sorry I cannot communicate via a phone call, please text me"

Sorry this is a joke, dont do that, but in essence that is what he has said to you. Ignore him now. You have said your piece, he knows but wont just give up straight away.

Just had a reply to my text ( in which I told him I was fully aware of my legal rights with regards getting debt returned to council and having them recover weekly via my JSA ) it reads as follows-

' Communicating by text is not possible please call me thank you'!!

    What do you think?!!

Oh I do not know if the temptation to reply with 'Clearly it is thank you' would be too much for me :rotfl:

He wants you to ring him, he does not even want to take the time to ring you so cannot think it is too hopeful for him.

At least he says please and thank you.

You want it taken out of your benefit payments directly. Clearly you are receiving tax credits at a rate you are deemed to need to live on and so you should not be using it to pay this debt.

Plus I hope you are spending enough time sitting down. I remember when I was 38 weeks pregnant I could barely keep myself upright and I was so full of fluid all my skin hurt like an overstretched baloon, lol

I am ok thanks, luckily my OH is here at the mo ( or unluckily as he is still unemployed! ) and he is fab! Our 2yr old is running him ragged though! I have a planned c section next Thur and so cannot wait to get this baby girl out of me!!

IF he turns up - talk to him through the letter box and tell him you have written to the council and are asking them to take the debt back. Do do as Hallowitch said though as it is highly likely he will be trying to charge excess fees.
One other thing - have you got a car? this might be a good time to go and move it a few blocks away as if he levies on it you will get stung with a load more fees although I am not sure if he has to make a visit first before he can then return and levy on the car.
Also do not agree to any payments you can't afford - this will cause you more stress and headaches. Make sure you pay what you can afford - prison is highly highly highly unlikely (you're more likely to win the lottery jackpot :) ) although the bailiff may try and convince you otherwise. Ignore him if he comes up with anything stupid.

You could ring him if you wanted to let him know you know where you stand but if there is a chance you might get stressed out - rather than enjoy winding him up -don't do it and save yourself the cost.
You could always let him know you will be recording the call :)

Hey DF, luckily none of us drive so don't have a car!!

The council have just emailed to say that my email has been passed to the Council Tax recovery team, so they are moving pretty quickly-which is good!

Its now 2.11pm and no sign, maybe he won't show now?
