We've just booked for Mexico, 14 nights in Jan 2012, staying at Secrets Maroma Resort.
When we visit the west coast of the States, we always ended up going to bed early so we remedied that last time by buying some sleeping tablets at Walgreens! Only bought off the shelf pills, took one a night and had great sleep, usual 8 hours with no interruptions and no waking up at some ungodly hour in the morning.
So I would say definitely go for a week and take some sleeping tablets with you, just in case. Have a great time!KimmyCustard :j0 -

A couple of years back we went for the week. Stayed at Secrets Maroma Beach. It was just to chill, had a couple of days where we went to Xel Ha, Isla Mujeres & golfing other than we chilled by the pool. It was fantasic.0

Can't understand the comments regarding jet lag on the way out TBH.0

Well its because they are 6 hours behind us so when you arrive in Mexico at your hotel around 5pm it already feels like 11pm to you and then you wake up at your normal waking hour ie for me 7am and find its only 1am in the morning!! - and it takes a few days to get used to that.0

So go grab something to eat and go to bed at 8-9pm and then you have corrected yourself. It's pretty rare to get jet lag flying transatlantic East to West, the problem is when returning to the UK.0 -
Thanks folks - Michelle would love feed back on the Riu Tequila, hope you have a FAB time! x0
