We used to be able to go to our local tip to pick up things if we saw them up there , nobody is allowed to do that now , infact , you will get fined if they caught you. I got 2 lovely little almost brand new bikes last year for a friends 2 grandchildren, they were immaculate , and would now be put into landfill , sad but true, what a waste !!!

The Tip i go to ( Recycling Center as they would like to be known!) always have Fab junk 4 sale, the employes i do notice take all the best items and send to auction, i have been fortunate with my findings over the years & live near a posher Tip! but they are getting more savvy now,i don't think there is by law any fine 4 purchasing goods just that the company in charge are realizing the profits to be made & keeping all the good stuff for themselves

I dont think we can buy at ours, I must ask next time I go down , but I have joined our local Freecycle , so if my self or my friends are looking for anything special I post on that , that is excellent. I get rid of all my junk on it aswell !!:rotfl:

Thanks for the Info on freecycle musy look into that! I dont live to far from Bristol! Sherborne with lots of lovely rich peeps that just throw out many quality items!!! I could give a list but it would go on & on & on! OK just for example a toy shop sent to the tip 20 + baby bjon dolls BNWT the list goes on, all i'm trying to say is you should be able to purchase what others view as waste not just the greedy companys behind it! Night All! Happy findings & Happy Easter! xxx

    ATTENTION ALL ANDROID USERS

Dont know if this has been mentioned before...

My OH has just figured out how to use the barcode finder to bring up asda's price. You need to download the barcode app, go onto custom search, type in http:// groceries.asda.com/asda-estore/search/searchcontainer.jsp?trailSize=1&searchString=%s (with no space after http:/) save that as your custom search, scan your item and press custom search and HEY PRESTO :j tried it on a few items and up it pops on the asda site on your phone

we used the app by ZXing team

    Wow! Jodie thats brilliant. :T

Very helpful and shocked I got it to work.
Gonna have to force the kids to go shopping with me so as they can work my phone :rotfl: it really is amazing the stuff we have at our disposal nowadays.

Can this barcode thingy be switched to read Mr T's prices as well - none of my main stores seem to have the Mid-Isle self scanners working for the last year or so, I'm forever asking to get prices checked at the till and this seems to aggitate the operators ?

Just looked out the window and have seen this strange looking !!!!!!. Any ideas what he'd be doing in my garden of a Saturday night in April.
