Hello all.
Um.... I have a confession to make; it may be that no more Flying happens this week. I have zero spoons.:(
We didn't even get to go for a meal after all; I was so exhausted after our trip to town (highlight was Mr LW buying himself two new shirts for work):D that I wouldn't have been able to eat if we'd gone. Good thing Mr LW hadn't booked a table as he said we'd be ok to just walk in.
Not to worry – a raincheck is fine. Thanks again for all the good wishes. You folks are the best!:A
Even the champagne is still in the fridge – we may save it for Beltane now.;)
Oh well, I'll post and delete as usual, and try hard not to feel a total failure.:(
Sexymouse welcome home; I know what you mean about getting used to your new name – I found it weird, too, at first. I even practised signing it, too, so as to not look as if I was forging someone's signature if I had to sign anything in front of someone!:D I'll look forward to seeing your pics.
Froddy sending lots of posi-vibes and a gentle Wolfy (((HUG))) for Meggie, and hope the chemo goes well for her.
Natty ooh, thank goodness you'd backed up your 'puter!:T We've had two friends lose everything through their computers having problems, so we always back up onto memory sticks, and once a month have a major maintenance session, doing a master back-up onto another, dedicated memory stick (I'd like an external hard-drive, when we can afford it). Oh, and both said friends were techies, so really they had no excuse, it was just laziness/complacency!
Piggers I'd offer to take your screaming baby, but I'm worse than useless with children – generally I scare them! I'd have the option of turning off my hearing aid though, so the screaming wouldn't overly bother me.:D
Right, I think I'll trundle out to the kitchen and see if I can manage a spot of lunch. Then I have about a gazillion emails to wade through.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

My excuse is the c**p that people leave on it!
People come in that way and leave bags, shoes and general gibble on it.
They moan about it - but I say 'move your stuff and I'll do it!'
But like you I refuse to bust a gut when everyone else is sat on their backsides.....
Looking forward to peace on Saturday - it's the start of the cricket season.....:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
An hour and a half later and I have returned from the garden, I have finished tackling the patio apart from a bit by the hedge which I will do later in the year when it has been cut back. It seems I came in in the nick of time. The girl next door appears not to be in school today even though they have only been back in school for four days and have an extra one off this weekend! I would love to say she seems ill but they got a new puppy today so she outside playing with it. I was hoping to make a start on cutting the grass this afternoon but unless she goes back to school I won't be able to go back out
I am now having some well earned lunch.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Ours is mostly bits of food the children drop, sugar/coffee from DS1 mainly not beng careful when making a cuppa and random bits of toys and washing.. and I don't think any of it is mine!!!
Anyway, I am fed, baby is sleeping (LW scaring babies is a gift... my mother shares it!) so I am going to send DS1 for milk and bread and mince DS2's hair and then they can all clean the backroom.. it isn't pleasant..

Thank you for kind thoughts and hugs for DD. I had a chuckle when Happier called her little one. She's 18 this year and woke me up at 3am as she was locked out
I think no matter what age they are and how annoying they are always your LO.
Oh and phone for feedback. I didnt get the job last week, not that anyone bothered to phone to tell me. Getting really hacked off that people dont bother to get back to you
Sorry to hear you didin't get the job, hopefully something better is just around the corner.
LW spoond and (((hugs))) winging their way to you, hope you feel better soon.

Really? Such a card exists? Some women expect a card when they're pregnant? Well, I'm gobsmacked.
Just had a major rant at my health insurance company. They give rewards for screening etc, so I asked them to credit me for the mammogram they paid for when I went to the breast clinic last year. So they asked for a letter from my GP to say it was clinically appropriate, as I'm not old enough to need one for routine screening.
I did explain that I found this offensive and distasteful... The GP wasn't there, wasn't involved in the decision, and shouldn't be asked to second guess the consultant. Besides which, my GP has better things to do that admin for my health insurance provider. OK so I got the all clear, but how would someone who didn't feel, if they were asked to get their GP to write to back up their consultant's decision for a mammogram?
Anyway, looking at the read receipts, my complaint email appears to have been read by half a dozen people so far. I sincerely hope that they will think before sending out that kind of email in future...
Suppose I should do some work... although I'm working my way through another batch of chocolate-making...0 -
Quick question - does anyone know if I can (legally) use a cattle prod on a minion who seems to be evolving into a slug? She seems to have stopped moving other than for the occasional meal - and only then because I refuse to carry food to her and leave it on the side to get cold.
However, her room does look a bit better (still not enough though) and very purple now she has her new bedlinen (which she did herself as I certainly wasn't going to help her).
Bathrooms still look good, so minimal work there todayShall just chuck some bleach around and it'll be fine.
Have done WM, minion has to do the DW if she wants her pocket money.
Really should do a bit more, but have bass at 2, then have to nip to the post office to get my money out for the long weekend - once I neglected to do this and all the cash machines within walking distance were out of order from 4.30 Good Friday until Tuesday morning    Even though I am now living somewhere where there will always be a cash machine available, the fear of being left without a penny to my name runs deep.
I think I shall content myself with writing an extremely long list of DIY tasks that need to be completed, accompanied by a cup of tea.
Oh, and I really should plan a budget, as things could be getting quite a bit tighter soon (DLA renewal has been submitted, and we all know what's been going on with them) As it is just me & DD (plus the splats), could anyone give me a ballpark figure of what I should be looking at? I had The Bloke to feed before and never really worried about how much I should or shouldn't be spending. I'm not at the point of needing to post a SOA, as I know what I can cut elsewhere.

Never mind, LW, it just means your birthday lasts much longer
And bestest vibes to Meggie (same name as my minion - which always makes it more personal, IYSWIM)I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

It isn't as bad as the first one was yet.. she didn't eat properly for 2 weeks.. I am hoping the rest are much easier on her and her poor ears. You could always send DD here I have loads mine are getting on with today.. They have the backroom to clean once the kitchen is swept, 2 baskets of odd socks to pair up and the rabbit cage to scrub out.. I am sure there could be work found for a few extras!
Floor half swept and my back is snapped!!! I made DD3 pick up the toys and washing.. the rest is swept into a heap in the middle of the floor. OH moved the table...
Ironically I just got a letter asking me to ring and make an appointment with the physio.. Why the hell can they not just make an appointment and send you it? God knows that was simpler than trying to get through.. absolutely farcical! Anyway, I told them to shove their appointment where the sun don't shine... so shoved it shall be... Gggrrrrr
Dobby sent off to shop for bread and milk so OH can eat.. he is a right mardy git when he is hungry.. amuses me, i don't think he realises what a grump he is! He will be human again soon.. though he has taken out the recycling and emptied one of the bins.. I emptied the big one, he did the small one.. something wrong with that I think
