We went for a short walk earlier, tanith, which was nice. My ankle has swollen now though, so need to elevate it.
I've thought of swimming a lot, recently, but, because I can't walk unaided, I'm not sure about getting into the pool
:o
Yes, the weather can have an affect on how much pain I'm in, todolistsocd
Thank you for your post
Hi,
Your welcome, anytime.:)
I know massages are for muscles etc but Hubby has Osteo in legs, so he finds that when I give him a deep massage with some warm oil, he legs don't get stiff so quick.
Also he found sitting in a low chair, brought the pain on much quicker.
Also, I read about the injections Doctors can give.
I think they last something like 3-6 months.
I really don't know what to suggest because everyone is different.:)0 -
I swear by a variable heat electric underblanket, even when it warm, a warm shower or bath if its accessable (I shower at home but on trips away I always get an adapted bathroom so that I can bathe).
I am also a fan of meditation and other deep relaxation methods.0 -
my great aunt swore by acupuncture and used matchsticks to stimulate relevant pressure points between treatments, my sister uses hypnotherapy - hope you find something that helps to ease it soon.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

I use SBC arnica gel have done for years and will continue to do so.
As for swimming you aid (my stick) can be left at the side of the pool.
Thankfully our pool as a gentle slope when you enter and obviously sides to hold onto

I have the same kind of arthritis and if all else fails I use heated lavender wheat bags. They really help with the pain and the smell of the lavender really calms me, I hope you try them and they help you too.0

on the sex thing
i did try this on advice from an aunt who suffers alot of pain
did it work?
well, getting there was difficult, painfull and at times funny
during was okish, better towards the end
after i had the best nights sleep in months, i also felt i could do cartwheels, although i did not try
it was weird the way the pain subsided, i presume it was all to do with chemical release in the brain and body, maybe more study should be put in to it
now the bad part, i woke the next day feeling like i had been in the ring with mike tyson then thrown under a road roller
so whilst for me i had a good nights kip but then paid for it it may be different for others
this was quite a while ago though
i find meditating also helps this is a new thing i looked in to so only been doing it a short while
good luck0 -

Tried all of the above. Not at the same time, though.
Other than red wine and spliff (which I of course have NEVER tried and given up when I stopped smoking), learning mindfullness based meditation can help - your practice teaches you to notice the pain is there, acknowledge it and then move your mind away so that it is less prominent in your mind.
Other than that, referral to a pain clinic may come up with some suggestions.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll
