Hi LookingAhead, thanks for the warm welcome I did have a church wedding with just the NINE bridesmaids I had so many so that they would a big distraction from me worked fairly well until the main event ie the vows etc did end up with a very sore face from smiling so much but wouldn't have changed it for anything, nearly 15 years later on wednesday and still is one of the best days of my life that and the birth of my two daughters so whatever you deceide as long as you know it feels right for you that will be all that matters take care and thanks again Shell

Wow 9 bridesmaids!!! Mind you - I take your point about the attention diverting tactic, that's a good one :rotfl:

A very happy anniversary for Wednesday hon! :)

I will update my ramblings as & when there are details to update with....right now it's just a blur as I fend off family & friends inevitable questions! Mainly with "Errr....I don't know" followed by more "erm.....no idea!"

    You get my drift!

OK time for dinner...catch you later!

    xx

Hi LA...a huge CONGRATULATIONS from the taxi household!!!...What fantastic news...I'm so pleased for you!!!!...7 years ago when we got married we had a registry office wedding ..where we'd made up our own vows....followed by a huge buffet and drinks at our house...followed by going to a working mens club at night and everybody said it was the best wedding they had been to...we had to do it this way as basically we had set the date and his sister was going to be coming over from America so knew what date it was going to be..we were due to marry july 1st 2000 but at christmas 1999 she was tragically murdered and my husband was awaiting an operation for a spinal injury....so was off work...originally it was going to be a big wedding...but with him being off work and the tragedy I didn't want to change the date of the wedding as she knew the date and would've been there....IYSWIM...so being short we invited family and a few friends to the register office and house...I'd bought champagne and wine and beer each wee..k I went shopping...I also bought things for the buffet and put them in the freezer on a weekly basis....so this spread the cost and a couple of friends helped make the buffet....and we ordered a cake and flowers...everyone was happy as they didn't have to pay for drinks...amd in the evening there was entertainment on at the club anyway so was free

OMG taxi.....that's so awful for your poor hubby to lose his Sister that way. I can't even begin to comprehend how he must have felt.

    I'm really speechless...that's just terrible.
