I go to bed and leave you lot up on your own and look what I come back to!
Think I'd better leave the intercom on tonight.....:)
Anyway thanks Moozie for your understanding on the weekly budget vs EBAY thing. We are thinking along the same lines.
I have listed some more stuff on EBAY tonight, I don't know if it will go (it's photographic stuff) but I can but try.
Bloody interest rates went up today didn't they? I wonder if we'll have more rises between now and June.....a bit of a worry.
Mind you a little bit of good news is, when I was looking around the mortgage paperwork the other night, I found the statement from beginning of 2006 and it said our outstanding balance was £77k. I thought it was £79k so lower than I thought :T and we've paid a whole year since then so......can't wait to get the next statement! (Is that a bit sick?)
Hmmm don't think I have updated the daily spend thread today....I'm off!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

Great! Am away for 1 night and miss a hat opportunity

!!!!!!!!
Anyway Looking Ahead, it's not remotely sad to be looking forward to your annual statement. It is also not remotely sad to get up early on the 1st of each month to check your on line mortgage statement[STRIKE]tum ti tum ti tum shuffles off counting the days till 1st February[/STRIKE]
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Glad it's not just me then (on the annual bill....I haven't got the on line mortgage statement so can't check that - but I am sure I would if I could!!)
Listed three more things yesterday on EBAY and one has a bid already and one of the others has generated some interest. I have had someone contact me to ask what price I would consider a "buy it now" offer on one of them but I have asked him to tell *me* a ball park figure and if it is similar to what I have in my mind I will let him know and adjust the listing, maybe, as it costs £1.50 to do it and I want to be sure it's gonna sell if I do that.
What else what else.......oooh counted my dance ticket money *again* today as I put some change in their yesterday and BF admitted to putting a bit in there too (I gently asked him not to, but stressed my appreciation...I just want to do this on my own otherwise I'll never learn!).
I have £15.20 so getting there for sure! (Target: £22.50 by end of January/beginning of February.)
Lord I hope they don't sell out before pay day. If they do I'll be like this  or maybe like this :rotfl: thinking "Typical!!!"
(If they do sell out that £22.50 will be spent on something mighty fine for me and no mistake.)

Oh, nearly forgot. Got a letter from Sainsburys Bank confirming the closure of my credit card account :T :T
I was very surprised I thought that they would just laugh and send me some more cheques but it seems they have taken me seriously! Wow.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

That's good that things are selling well LA! I'm not sure if you've had a response about it yet, but do go carefully with the 'buy it now' offer, sometimes it can be a tactic to try and get something for much less than they know it'll sell for otherwise - working on the assumption that you don't know the value of what you've got. Its happened to me a few times (when selling old computer games and collectable dvds, that kind of thing) and they never offer a price, only one ever did and that was £5 when the item eventually sold for £40+ Nowadays I always reply with 'sorry, auction only, happy bidding!' and leave it at that.
I don't mean to be overly negative or anything... just would hate to see you sell yourself short! Obviously it depends on the type of item, so all this might be useless waffle, but always worth bearing in mind.
Well done on saving up so much for the ticket, you'll get there I'm sure and the show will be so much more fun knowing you've made that effort!

Hi Kath, thanks for the advice, I do appreciate it.
Well the guy did actually come back with a price in mind for my item and it did actually tie in with what I thought/hoped for given the second hand market. So I have put a B.I.N price on and will see what happens.
If he now doesn't buy it (which I have prepared myself for, just being sceptical really) then I will look at this as a learning experience for EBAY!
I took the opportunity of putting a reserve price on the item as well as I did some research online for this type of item and it's worth quite a lot brand new & boxed however the market is not that big and even smaller for second hand, my previous attempts at selling it privately failing.
So my reserve just means I don't let it go for peanuts (IF it goes) albeit it's worth more - but I need the money now before the market diminishes further. But I am taking a risk as it might not sell at all!
Sigh. Sorry if that all sounds complicated!
I will be careful though with further EBAY things though as you said - I did/do have some cynical concerns....you just don't know do you? Can't trust anyone on there at "face" value really. Shame.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
