ThanksGonna buy some Oven Pride tomorrow
Do not use oven pride on the glass in your oven door!!
As I said earlier oven pride is a 12% solution of caustic soda it will damage the tempered glass, it will either dull it if your lucky & don't leave it on too long or if you do leave it too long then the next time you use your oven the glass will shatter into thousands of tiny pieces as happened to the person who reviewed it here:
http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/household-products/oven-pride-kitchen-cleaner/1491345/
This is very clearly stated in the ovenpride FAQ here:
http://www.ovenpride.com/frequently-asked-questions#question1
If you have a self cleaning oven then do not use it on the sides of the oven as it will strip off the self cleaning coating.
Do not get it on any of the rubber seals as it will destroy them very rapidly.
Do not get it on the element as it will distort it ultimately causing it to fail.
Most importantly do not get it on you skin, the oven is easily replaceable your skin is not.0 -

Thanks for that tip. How do you suggest i clean my oven door?
Also can Oven Pride be used to clean the cooking grates (painted) by soaking them in the bag?0 -
Oven Pride/caustic soda will strip paint. Aluminum, magnesium, zinc, tin, chromium, bronze, brass, copper, and tantalum items will all be damaged by caustic soda so it can usually only be used on your cooking grates if they are cast iron & unpainted.
A glass scraper such as this... http://www.trade1st.co.uk/productdetail/Glass-Scrapers/67.aspx ... (available from any hardware shop or DIY chain) is very effective for removing built up grime from a glass oven door & a small amount of neat washing up liquid is usually sufficient to shift the remaining greasy resisdue, any other non abrasive cleaner should work equally well, I use a citrus based multipurpose cleaner to do mine. Alternately vinegar can be sprayed onto the glass, left for 10 minutes, then wiped off with screwed up newspaper (if heavily soiled you may have to repeat this process a couple of times with normal strength vinegar).0
