Paintwork on new Fiesta 2010

Right, I have spent the whole day on that bloomin Fiesta. I have done exactly as the Ford Bodyshop advised, I have T Cut it (never thought I'd have to T cut a one year old car that hardly sees the light of day), and I have polished it. I must admit it looks tons better already but I will leave judgement till another inspection tomorrow.
I used to valet cars for a local garage before I worked for myself in used car sales, so at least I knew how to T cut. I only did it because I was told to try it, I knew if it didn't work I could go back to the dealer.
Thanks for all the help and advice I will post tomorrow if it's worked.
MX5huggy Is that what car you run, I only ask as my other car is an MX5.

Your 1 year old car, unless it was built to your own spec could be 2 years old. Who knows where it sat before you bought it.0

That is irrelevent, the car could be two years old, however, it's the 2010 model with bluetooth and i pod connection.
The point is, the paintwork was fine when I bought the car and has been for the last 11 months.
I have also heard today, but not in my village as far as I know, that kids are dipping paintbrushes in petrol and splashing it on cars.
Whether it's a new craze going about, I don't know. But I do know when I originally described the marks I said they looked like petrol or oil because they had that purpley irridescent glow.

!!!
I'll come to wherever you are and help with breaking their legs if you catch them doing that :rotfl:0 -
I don't know if it was round my way or not, it was Holmfirth (last of the summer wine country) where we were told they had been doing it, but you know what kids are like, they'll get on facebook and tell their friends and it will spread like a disease.
I don't know where some kids get their ideas from. Anyway I'll be checking my paintwork later to see if all the work I put in yesterday has worked.

ML.
Petrol won't damage paintwork - and a soft cloth would get rid of any stain left on the paintwork from the petrol.
If possible, please upload some pictures showing the paintwork

I think I may have got rid of the marks, very hard work mind you.
My hubbie has some photo's on his i phone, I'll see if he can upload them if they're good enough to show up.

hey everyone
just wanted to update everyone incase it helps someone else in the same situation...
I went to my dealer who said take it to the bodyshop. Took it to the bodyshop, they took photos etc. A week later I come back home and find a letter with what is bascially a quote from them to fix it, with no cover letter, explanation, nothing! To make it more interesting the quote was for £320!
I ring my dealer and he says that they shouldnt have sent it out as it was to be handled to through them. He says they got an internal rate for the work - £150 (clearly ripping customers off then! Said by the dealer themselves!) and that they would pay half of it. So I have to stump up £75.
I am thinking that is too much, even though the whole bumper will be done, I may as well just buy some touch up paint and hope for the best.. and be done with it and not be without the car for 2 days.
Plus it will prob save me about £50. Be interesting to see if it invalidates my warranty??0
