Like I said, I gained 8mpg on the motorway due to certain low load areas being leaned off and that is in an offboost part of the map.I also gained more power when on boost.
yes but as both cars are of non turbo he wont really gain anything.0 -
Power wise no, but as I specificly mentioned offboost is where I gained 8mpg then its effectively running as an N/A.OP is better checking with other owners of those cars and see what they have seen after remaps. They may already have an efficient fuel map as it is.0

It would be of interest if the OP had a diesel.0 -

Maybe so, but as stated the OP will NOT benefit from a remap of his cars as he's looking for an economy saving and not a performance increase.0 -

Not touching that.
Rolling road map? Needs a specialist to look at it and properly understand the motor. The example in the press is simply diesel mapping, they have no doubt cut his boost for the economy settings.
Some cars (Subaru is one) have an ECU which is capable of holding more than one map so no need for this box at all. I'd look on a owners club site first.
Once again though, no turbo, no real point.
5t.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
Even with a turbo, it's the older cars that generally benefit as these tend to run very rich in order to reduce the risk of detonation.
We had my GF's modified 200SX chipped (Horsham Developments Stage 2 chip) and got an increase of 7-10 MPG I think. It's also converted to LPG which gives a more substantial saving, though the initial outlay is a lot higher (£1500 in our case)0
