  • We know you are all correct, as our user name suggests we are 'the workers' of South East Orangeries, or we should say we WERE the workers who have all been left being owed thousands of pounds in wages etc. and now obviously out of work with not a hope in hell's chance of getting paid. as workers we had false promises like the rest of you.
  • I am glad we all have a place to vent! Anyone in the thread please feel free to PM me. I do know a little about the internet and if nothing else, we can make sure this news, and the names involved pop up on the right google searches - just like seems to have happened here.

Really sorry for those of you not as lucky as us, at least our place is 90% there. Also just as sorry for those of you not paid and owed - had we known what was going on we would have got trading standards involved in March. It did cross our minds as despite the employees doing a good job things such as materials and (ahem) doors and windows were never there.

    Is that Alltask ltd?

They all seem a little to credible?

It is believed that Keith Perkins has gone to Alltask Ltd (yes, the above company) taking with him the order book of South East Orangeries Ltd.
(I imagine they would have paid him a lot of money for this)
On the face of it this would have been an asset of South East Orangeries (SEO) and its value should have been realised for the company and its creditors.
If anyone is owed money by South East Orangeries they should lodge their claim with the administrator Miss Brett of KSA Business Recovery tel 01474 532862.
They will then be notified of the meeting of creditors.
On current information it is possible that the company has traded fraudulently. It would be sensible for as many creditors as possible to attend the meeting of creditors ( even if they are not encouraged to do so by the administrator’s office ) in order that they can compare notes.
If any approach to the authorities about possible fraud etc is to be made it is more likely to be taken seriously if made by as many affected people as possible.
  • Can any one give advise on this - As customers with work outstanding (that had been paid for!) are we legally allowed to get any remaining work completed by another company? Or could we be technically in breach of contract until we recieve some formal notification that SEO has gone out of business and any work outstanding will not be completed by Alltask (if they have taken over some contracts as reported on this site). So far all comunication has been by phone, nothing official in writing.

    Hi again

We were as fed up as you, and 2 weeks ago served them notice. This was before we heard officially or not that the company was in trouble. This may work for you. You need to say something like:

"You told us the work would take x weeks and we fairly assumed this be be around date x. Now time is of the essence in this case and if you do not complete the work by reasonable date y we will consider this contract void and no further monies will be owed to you"

Not sure this will work, but when you hot reasonable date y you should be able to get the work completed by another firm.

I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

    :(

Ex-workers of Keith Perkins and David Hudson should contact the Insolvency Service if they feel they have information of value. It is an offence to continue to trade when you know your company is insolvent - ie. take deposits for work that you know will never be completed.
  • Hi
We have had dealings with this company or quite a while now,we found the work slow and we were for ever having to call them to find out when our work was to be done. When it was time to pay they were on us to pay as quickly as possible,no chance of paying by credit card and usually they wanted a same day bank transfer.
We have friends that were interested in getting extensions done and thankfully we did not recommend this shower of a company to them, and this was because of the incompetence of how we saw this company being run.Feel gutted for those of you that have paid money and have had little or no work done.
Have spoken to Mr Perkins and from the way he spoke it was as if he had lost the most out of this, his attitude was someone else was responsible for the mess of the company.
Seems that from speaking to Mr Hudson they are hoping company can continue, dont know if this true or just a way of keeping us hanging on.
