Maybe no difference to you, but to the shop itself, there certainly is ... on £60 worth of shopping, the shop might actually make something, whereas with £17 worth of shopping they definitely wont.

The people who are responsible for developing Tesco's marketing strategy are well educated adults who are paid big bucks for what they do. I cannot believe that they don't realise that '£x off, no minimum spend' means that some customers will just spend the absolute minumum to get the discount. It isn't rocket science, is it? So, if they make those offers, it seems reasonable to suppose that they have factored this in and have decided to go ahead. The fact that they do now normally stipulate a minimum spend suggests that they may have miscalculated, but surely, that is down to them. It's not as if they are naive trusting little souls who can't be expected to anticipate these things...

  • I agree that if there's no minumum spend set then I can't see a reason not to take full advantage of only spending just over the amount of the voucher, which I have done myself a few times with Boots ;)

What I'm concerned about are those that admit to setting up multiple accounts so they can use the vouchers more than once and if, for whatever reason, they don't work they're then phoning Tesco CS to complain about it!!!!

Considering we are all breaking Tesco's T&C's by even using some of these codes in the first place I think it is a dmaned cheek to blatantly abuse the system and then complain if it doesn't work  ... if that sort of thing continues it will only be a matter of time before Tesco put a complete stop to it all then we'll all lose out :(

If I use a voucher and it works then I see it as a bonus that saves me a few quid on my normal weekly shopping bill, but I don't see it as my given right to expect the discounts and if they don't work then that's just bad luck!

Absolutely ... they're making huge profits, so they can afford to make the odd "mistake" and why shouldn't we benefit? After all, this site is about finding "loopholes" and saving money.

I'm damn sure they've got access to our accounts and can see the banked codes many of us have and they've certainly got access to the web sites that openly broadcast the latest codes and forums such as this one ... they're not idiots.

I don't think it's a good idea to contact them re. codes not been accepted. Why put ourselves in a situation where we have to tell lies when codes are so readily available? Their customer services staff are obviously primed to ask certain questions and too many of these could eventually mean codes having to be withdrawn.

Let's make the most of the situation and stop being so righteous.

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS
  • Can someone tell me, with these ecoupons when it asks for minimum order value, does it reject the coupon if on the day of delivery your actual order is under £50 because of items not available or because of multi buy items which lower the value.

My order has come to £51.73 so it has accepted the coupon, but that price is the guide only.

    thanks

    Hi,

I ordered last week from Tesco and the driver delivered everything except our alchohol!! BOOHOO!!

However, when i rang and queried this i was reimbursed straight away, which took or order down to £39, and yes, they still let us have the £15 discount! WAHEY! Well cheap shop! Gonna do the same again today!

My theory is this - retailers (particularly Tesco) are there to make money. When they report their results to the stock market and to the press, they report sales and profits (normally increasing by X%!) - all promotions are designed to get you to try a product which you will then hopefully do when the product is sold at full price. Likewise, ultimately with any offer or discount, they are trying to get you to spend money.

The technology, with their tracking system online and instore using your Tesco Reward card/account details mean that they know all about what you buy, how you buy, what promotions they have sent you - everything - instore and online. With £XX pounds, £XX minimum spend, they will have factored in the fact that people will share these - if not, then they could/would/should make the vouchers unique, for example, as you see on some of the vouchers on CD-Wow and perfectly feasible with the technology at their disposal.

There are many people out there that will always pay full price, not go with offers, not save vouchers. There are others, like us on here, that will seek to save where we can (we spend enough time earning it!). This probably helps them in terms of increasing the sales turnover figure (so that they can be seen to be the biggest/best etc) while the millions of people paying full price, plus our own contribution, will contribute to their profit figure.

Turnover and profit - both figures are reported, both are important to boost the share price etc and demonstrate a healthy growth in the company. Likewise, turnover online will help to demonstrate that their online service is effective and again, beating the competition.

    Just a thought.
