So is that it then - no more codes will be issued, or do you think they'll start issuing again soon, perhaps having first put in some software that picks up on these "abuse" issues? It's just typical though - I feel I've missed out on so much money saving cos I've only just discovered the discount codes!
Anyone here shop at Tesco Renfrew? If so do you know if they accept vouchers for other stores and for products that they sell but you're not actually buying? I've not had the nerve to try this yet. I'm such a coward!"There's hard work. And there's not so hard work. I prefer not so hard work. Who knows what Tesco will decide to do ... I wouldn't have thought that losing a (relatively) few customers if they discontinue with the online codes would cause them much worry ... peanuts to them. Then again they may consider it good PR to start re-issuing a few again.
I would have thought they'd have realised from the beginning that the codes would be open to abuse at some time in the future. People are bound to get "greedy" and start opening multiple accounts if they're able to and then reuse the codes.

I had an email from Tesco head office day before yesterday, to say ALL stores Will accept a voucher , even if you do not buy the item, as long as they sell it. Still waiting for an answer on if they take internet printouts though.

Then again our delivery guy says our local store makes more money off internet sales than instore - but he could have been talking rubbish"There's hard work. And there's not so hard work. What they're NOT happy about, and is why they're now clamping down, is that people have got greedy and are using multiple accounts just so they can apply the discount codes. This is blatant fraud and abuse which they won't tolerate.
They're not stupid and all our order histories are logged and having multiple household members placing orders does not fool them, especially if those orders are the same or similar. They know exactly what's going on
Thats fair enough, but surely they could weed out duplicate accounts at the same address rather than risk losing customers who will refuse to shop with them because of the delivery charge. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Well I'd have thought so too but who knows how their logic works. I know they don't really give a damn about losing a certain proportion of their customers because they're such major players, as has been very evident over their refusal to accept Visa Electron for online shopping. I personally wouldn't give Tesco a penny of my money, vouchers or no vouchers, if I had any choice in the matter "An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

Your first shop comes with 15 pounds off, vaild until 8th May 2005.
not sure if it really only applies to 1st order, but here you go: xx-YW4G

Fantastic ... works fine! Thanks very much:j
This appears to be a new code. I've never known an occasion when codes "applying to first orders only" can't be used for any order.
BTW, my expiry date is 15/05/05 ... but for some reason these do tend to vary when you input them ... even better!Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
