Edit Number 2 : Just browsing another forum and XX-QQTV still works - £15 of £50 spend in Groceries. Even better! So will go with assuming the £15 off is off the discounted price. XX-QQTV expires 24/04/05 too.

    Excellent!!! :D

Just ordered 18 bottles wine for the grand sum of £30.43 (+ delivery) :T

I'll be able to start up my own wine cellar at this rate :rotfl:

can i just clarify, the £15 off £50 groceries code - does that work with a wine order? i thought wine was separate to groceries so you couldn't use the code ...
only my third time ordering from tescos so a bit of a novice still!
    thanks

It's a bit confusing on Tesco's web site - for a start they don't tell you how much your bill will actually be on delivery.... but when you order from the Groceries section your order is actually taken from the stock from your local store and you pay for delivery from your local store which varies depending on what day you have it delivered. You can therefore order anything that your local store stocks - which includes wine. You can order any number of bottles and any mix therefore.

In contrast the Tesco Web Wine section comes under the Tesco Extra banner and your order comes from a central warehouse, has a standard £4.99 delivery charge, you can normally only order in multiples of 6 bottles of the same wine.

Some vouchers are for Groceries and some are for other specific parts of the Extra section e.g. Wine. If you can you are probably better ordering from Groceries if you have the choice as you get cheaper and faster delivery and you can easily take stuff back and swap it if you don't like stuff.

Even if you order from the Wine section it still comes from your local store by the same drivers

I had two deliveries booked last week, one grocery and one wine, both for the same day and they all arrived together in the same delivery despite having paid two lots of delivery charges  ... the driver told me I'm better off ordering from wine from the grocery page in future.

I was under the impression that if you order from the wine section your wine is sent from a central warehouse to your local store to then be sent out to you from there. As a result delivery takes a lot longer - e.g. I just tried an order from the Wine section and the earliest delivery date is 25/4/05, but from the Groceries section delivery is available tomorrow! In any case (no pun intended) you have a lot more flexibility ordering it from the Groceries section. However, if it weren't for these vouchers I wouldn't go near Tesco's web site - it is very annoying!

Ahhh right, that explains the delay in delivery then, I didn't know that. I wouldn't use Tesco either given a choice, and have had to have words with the online manager at my local store on more than one occassion because of shoddy service, but they can only work with the systems in place which are far from satisfactory considering the huge profits they make

Just ordered 10 bottles of Australian Red £2.70 per bottle and bottles of Australian Columbard £2.99 per bottle.

    Total £50.92 + £3.99 delivery less £15 voucher (XX-QQTV). - voucher expires 24 April!!

However the 30% is taken off at the checkout and reduces the Australian Red to £1.86 a bottle and the Columbard to £2.09 per bottle.

There is a further 5% off if you order 6 bottles or more so this now becomes £17.67 for 10 bottles of Red and £15.89 for 8 bottles of the Columbard.

    So, in summary £17.67 + £15.89 = £33.56 + £3.99 delivery= £37.55 - (£15 off £50) code = £22.55 at an average of £1.25 per bottle.
