Packing list for Cairo - have I missed anything?

Options
I'm off to Cairo next week for a week with my 2 children and I wondered if anyone can think of anything I've forgotten to pack?

4 outfits for each person,
travelwash - intend to wash clothes midweek,
sun hats,
socks,
sandals,
swimming costumes,
sanitary towels,
antibacterial wipes,
antibacterial spray,
antibacterial soap,
small torch,
flannel,
sunscreen,
insect repellent,
sleeping clothes,
earplugs,
2 travel plug adaptors,
video camera and charger,
empty rucksack (incase we bring back more than we go with),
US dollars travellers cheques and Egyptian money,
Hair things.

Have I missed anything?

All useful replies will be thanked :j

    Hello black_saturn

I hope you'll bring these items back unopened but it's better to be safe than sorry;) :

Boots Diareze (Diarrhoea Relief) capsules x 18
Boots Rehydration sachets (blackcurrant flavour) x 6
    Anthisan cream (for insect bites)

I found baby/wet wipes very useful too. When you're hot and sweaty, they are nice to use on your neck and face.;)

I hope you have a lovely holiday in Egypt and on my river.:D

Pounds Sterling in cash gets a far better rate over there (we went to Cairo & Luxor in September having changed ours here) so change there if you can....or take it as a back up.

We used a lot of the antibacterial gel after handling money...that apparently is the biggest cause of tummy upsets.

Hope you have a great time! ;)

Thanks, I actually hadn't packed the insurance document. I hate sunglasses so I don't have any but I was hoping I could buy some there if I need them. I don't use an iron at home nevermind on holiday  and I don't have a credit card. Never thought about plasters. Thanks

Deffo take Diorreah medication, and maybe some pringles n things for the wee ones...I would take sunnies with you as the sun is very strong there and the glasses you buy there may not be protective enough.

    Have a great holiday.

Have you considered taking Anti-Malaria tabs too???? Another plus is to bring water purifying tabs for brushing teeth.

    Have a great time

Take a fleece with you. I know it sounds odd, but the desert gets very cold very quickly at night and in the early morning before the sun comes up.
    Good, clean fun.... :D

You don't need malaria tablets for northern Egypt. We will use bottled water for brushing teeth.
