Hi! 16 months ago, I bought a 20GB iPod, but 2 days ago it suddenly died on me. I was doing nothing out of the ordinary, just listening to it and trying to skip to the next song, when it suddenly switched off. When I tried to switch it back on, I got a 'sad iPod face'. Sometimes when this happens (its very common) Apple do exchange them. There are are several successful stories (and even more unsuccessful ones! ) on here in the forum section:-
