I've got an Iphone and Itouch - love them both. No reliability probs with either. My Iphone has many battle scars and been through the wars with me at work. Nearly 2 tears old, still has excellent battery life and works like a dream. Don't really agree with the mp4 format though, should be mp3 like most others....;)Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0

i originally went with ipods for their integration
eg car head units etc
even sony dont inegrate thier own MP3 players in their head units
however i like the ipods even if they are over priced and should have a built in radio
Much the same really. I have an Alpine head unit in my car that is solely ipod or MP3 (no CD player!). It has the benefit of the ipod click wheel on the unit so you can control the head unit in exactly the same way as the ipod itself. Its also got a large display that shows album art.
I'm a big fan of apple anyway though, I use a Macbook and as well as the 160gb Classic Ipod I also have the Iphone. Everything intergrates very easily for me0 -

Same here, the next iPhone will have to be impressive to make me give up my 1st gen iPhone!!! - i like it because i find the screen has better colour and it has more weight to it!:beer:In My 'Permanant' Pre-Masters Gap Year

This is why it's not worth getting ipods. Get a creative or a sony. All youre doing is paying for the name and for the joys of being restricted to itunes.0

I always hated ipods - had a zen vision:m for 2 years but got sucked in by the ipod touch and it's absolutely amazing. Have had it for 18 months now and it's perfect and 10 times better than the zen vision.
My girlfriend's had an ipod video for 3 years and that still works perfectly as well.
I was a sceptic - but they're really good.0 -
A short sharp tap onto a table might get it going again - worked for the one I bought from ebay- got 2-3 months out of it, but eventually it will die completely. As others have stated it is very easy to replace the drive in these - drives are available from ebay and there is plenty of info on you tube etc on how to do it (pop case open with thin blade, remove old drive, plug in new one, close attach to PC and itunes will re-install the system). However, you will find the drive will eventually die again - my replacement (brand new) drive only lasted 3 months! - they just dont like the vibration and heat as well (have you noticed how hot the ipod can get). I replaced that with an adapter that allows you to insert a compact flash card - just plugs into where the drive cable plugged into and then plug in a compact flash card and re-install the system by attaching to itunes (it is literally as easy as plugging in the plug for a toaster, just on a smaller scale) - no moving parts to go wrong - in fact it survived being dropped out about 9ft onto concrete - I challenge a hard drive based player to do that. Total cost, about £30 (and £25 of that was for the CF card).
Also, do a search for Rockbox - an alternitive OS, which doesnt tie you to itunes, and allows you to literally drag and drop your music0
