OMG I had conversation with my DM and he suggested that if my, and other agents on his section, sales are not up to scratch we would lose our job as there are plenty of agents queuing up for the job! I dont think he lives in the real world as there are at least 6 vacant books in our office that the managers are having to collect as they cant find anyone to do it!!!0

Personally i know greenwoods and provident agents that have quit on the day given all their stuff in because of this, agents first loyalty is to themselves and if you keep losing money hand over fist then the time is to think is this worth it. I would ask the AM and section managers to get of their backsides and do something to help the agents out. Their bonus's come from what the agent collects and if collections are down then it's in their best interests to get bad payers up to speed.0

No, it was a last minute thing at Christmas. And I was willing to pay what I owed, just not willing to take annual leave from work to be in for an agent that changed the agreement and expected me to fit in. I offered solutions, they were refused. If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -
errrm, i have an interview tomorrow for an s/employed agents job working 3 days a week.
i have been told i will earn £250-£300 gross p/week.
up to now the bonuses are frequently mentioned but the 'non payer' £15 deduction isnt....are the provvident liars? are they ok to work for?
dont like being ub40 but dont like being ripped off!
I'd prefer being unemployed rather than work for provident or any other company like that.0 -

I am a DM for Provi, trust me this is not right, we are expecting a lot of agents to walk out in the next few weeks. Those that have made this decision have never collected a book. We are going to lose some very good agents. They will lose more money when the books are not collected.0

if the managers done there job in the first place and went out and done the arrears then maybe the customers wouldnt be behind and the agents wouldnt be getting charged!0

Aw I'm sorry you're going through this.
I've used Provident in the past and I don't think much of them because of the interest, but our collector was really nice and then suddenly he changed into this horrible man demanding money back. Of course this was OUR fault anyway for not being about to pay him what we owed each week.
Is it really worth the hassle of staying with them? It's not your fault that you can't get your customers to pay up, some customers are really cheaky and avoid paying each week.
I feel this is really unfair to you!
If you were to go and bang on doors and intimidate them, you might get your money but you'd probably end up with the sack, so you can't win either way.
I haven't read all these comments, so I'm sorry if I've asked something that you've already answered. Thank you to everyone!
