Fujitsu Siemens Laptop Li 2727

...do a search on here and google your problem?
Question
What is an inherent fault?
Answer
A fault present at the time of purchase. Examples are:
• an error in design so that a product is manufactured incorrectly
• an error in manufacturing where a faulty component was inserted.
The "fault" may not become apparent immediately but it was there at the time of sale and so the product was not of satisfactory standard.
Spoke to Siemens and they said its not a known fault in the LI 2727. Fault did not occur at time of purchase, and only occured after the first 12 months.0 -

Right... this is all getting highly technical, so I'll move the thread across to the techies board. You can always come back when you have a decision on inherent fault versus hard cheese.
Good luck with it though

TBH, I was hoping Martin could help, re: consumer act and if a item is not fit for purpose? Would Martin pitch in on such as subject/topic as this?0 -

UPDATE: received these emails yesterday... could really do with with some suggestions?
1st email sent to myself @ approx 1pm today stating:
We will arrange to have the laptop back in with the probable course of action to replace the entire TFT assembly (Top Section).
There is a possibility that this course will write off the laptop so we recommend you backup all data you want to keep. Any software work to recover your data by us would be chargeable. (This email was CC'd to the MD of Comart)
then, a second email @ 5pm tonight, which said:
I have checked with my MD. We are happy to have the laptop back in as per my earlier email but only the parts we have fitted would be covered under the warranty. (Screen, Inverter and Harness). As you no longer have cover with Domestic & General we would have to charge for any additional parts not originally changed
To me, it looks as thou the MD has spoken to the workshop manager, and asked him to send the 2nd email. It seems as thou they're going back on their word, from their 1st email. However, I have an engineers report, stating the TFT screen has been replaced. Is the TFT screen and the TFT assembly (top section), the same thing?0 -
is anyone able to advise please0

Maybe a really basic question and I'm sorry if I missed that you've already done this but have you downloaded the latest drivers for the graphics?Always looking for a bargain and to help0
