  • Sorry if I seem blunt but here's what I can see that you could do.

gas 50.00 (175.29 owing) presuming you're in arrears?
    electric 33.00 (148.85 owing)

yes that is what we will still owe, they have been estimating my readings which i done nothing about until recently, stupid i know, but from now on i will be ringing them with my readings.
  • the company is called dissolve debt.

  • Oh and as for you paying for their holidays.. wouldn't suprise me as £80 over 12 months is £960 which would go a long way towards a holiday!

that makes me very angry now, must think i am stupid, well its going to be cancelled when he gets home he has to tell his mum that its going to be stopped.
  • Do you cook from scratch? £300 for food is a bit over the top,we have 4 in our house and on a bad month we spend £220 (incl.dog food, toiletries etc) and on a good month we spend £120.
Your internet is very high,is there a reason for that?
I know it's hard, but could you try to quit the smoking? it's eating up quite a bit each month.

where do you shop? we have been shopping at morrisons, we have 2 cats has well, a hamster and gold fish, has for the internet, its with telewest, i signed up with them and then relised i could of got cheaper but now i have a year contract with them. i am going to quit the fags, dirty habit anyway and that would save me tons of money.
  • Had a quick look at 'dissolve debt's website. and it's just another company offering to wipe out up to 95% of your debt as long as A)You pay them a fee and b)You pay them an extortionate fee each month while your creditors only get pennies.
Apparently they won't give legal advice or help you if your creditors take you to court (Which they can), and they don't try and stop the creditors adding charges on top of what you owe.

Seriously. Ditch them and go with CCCS or payplan. You'll get much better service and legal advice as well as them sorting out your creditors etc for free which means all the money you'll be paying will actually go to your creditors and not into dissolve debt's pockets.

Tesco and iceland are great, plus you can get clubcard points from tesco. We get nearly £10 back from them every 3 months and we only spend about £150 a month max on food/toiletries/nappies.

  • i have an idea, not sure if this will work, since we are paying lloyds bank £716.36

    credit card 365.00
    loan 351.36

    a month.....

could we not write to lloyds bank, and explain our situation and see if they can reduce the fees or do something?

they know something is wrong, because the middle of the month we are always over hubbies overdraft and around the 24th of each month they send us letters saying we have been charged 35 + 10 each time which is mounting up.

any ideas how i would go on with this. and what letter i can send them, has i think if they reduced there monthly payments for us, done the stuff that has been said, we would be fine.

If you're being charged consistenly it'd be well worth reading the 'claiming back your bank charges' thread above. You can get up to 6 yrs worth of bank charges back as it's now widely accepted that charges over £12 are unlawful and people are getting thousands back from banks/credit cards!

uh... not sure exactly. I presume they do it jointly but for them to deal with you it'd need to be in your name. You hubby would have to agree to it though..
sorry not much help as I haven't had any dealings with Payplan but there are lots of people on here who have so it might be worth posting asking that as a seperate post with payplan in the subject line..
