Depends-how old the kids are? My 4 year old sometimes travels in our car with just a seat belt, but only on short journeys and she is about the size of a six year old. 3 year old sometimes travels in high back booster with adult seat belt, again only on short journeys and he also is tall for his age-I hope no one would report me!
However when they were under 3, both were in correct seats for their age, only now I have relaxed things as they are both tall for their age!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I seem to be in the minority here but I'd keep out of it and not do anything. If these parents cannot grasp the simple fact that the children are THE most important thing you'll ever transport then seriously, what's the point of trying to get into their dim little heads about safety. They're way too dumb to listen if their attitude towards the kids is how they live.

My kids are safe in the car even if we have to go without to get the best seats, and I expect the same of other people driving my kids around, as I would do with theirs.

so you don't have accidents whilst on short journeys then?

I don't get your theory - so when they were under 3 you did the right thing but now they they are older you think that they are ok not be be properly restrained as per the law :(

there is a very good reason why children have to be in the proper car seats - heres some info on what could happen if you use a seatbelt on a young child http://www.childrestraints.co.nz/seatbelts.php#scb oh, and it's also illegal too

you may be the minority but its where im at aswell, the family are known to me well and for many reasons i have a biased opinion on them, but my angel on my shoulder keeps whispering in my ear i should do something

I dont have time to answer all queries so quickly : they do run 2 cars but only the father drives, they live on benefits / he works sometimes at a local garage. The eldest child as ive stated is 9 and each child is 12/16 months younger going down to the 6 week old baby. The eldest is not tall for his age, neither is the 8 year old but they are sometimes allowed to walk home from the shops on their own so its not always all 7 kids in the car.

I will try and make it all a little clearer in the morning.

that still leaves 5 children and 2 adults in the car so still over crowded.

My 6 and 8 y/o's have high back boosters (both about 115cm), my 10.5 y/o has a booster cushion and the baby has a rear facing seat with isofix.. which the big long thing has just about outgrown. I have decided the Swedish stats look good so we are going to follow their guidelines/laws and be in the minority over here but the good stats hopefully should be be unfortunate enough to have an accident. The one really good thing with boosters is they are so simple to transfer between cars.. DD3 takes her cushion in the car when she is picked up by a dad from church to go to dance on a Monday and when she is taken to church club on a Wednesday by another church assistant.. they are so light she can take responsibility for them herself..she knows it is the law. My 6 and 8 y/o's have refused to get in the car with their dad until he gets high back boosters because they know it is the law they have seats and they know they are safer and also more comfortable with them.
